Meet Meadow

Meadow is a ~3-month old, ~12lb terrier/pinscher mix who has spent the last couple weeks in one of our experienced foster homes. They describe her as an excellent puppy – she is potty trained (no accidents!), sleeps quietly through the night, and is friendly and outgoing with humans and other dogs.

She takes several long walks a day and is a great walker for her age. She shares a home with another dog (~40lb), a cat (who she likes to playfully chase), and two younger girls (mutual adoration!). As a puppy, she entertains herself by chewing, but likes toys of all kinds and is easily redirected to them. She will make an outstanding addition to any household or family!

Mabel(AKA Tarot)

This beauty came to us as an undernourished and skiddish girl. She has learned so much from her foster brothers and has really come out of her shell. She walks well on a leash and loves to lie in the sun.

Mabel is high energy and will do best with an active family. She can get into a little bit of trouble if she hasn’t burned off enough energy. Luckily, she has learned to channel her energy and seek her toy box. She loves chewing on nylabones and snuggling stuffies.

She does have a bit of a prey drive, so a house without small animals or cats would be best. She’s a hound, so a fenced yard would also be ideal. Compared to her foster brother(a beagle) she is very quiet for a hound. She can startle easily if she’s sleeping. We’re working with her on feeling more comfortable, but it’s clear she wasn’t in the safest environment in her early days.

Mabel is such a good girl. She has learned to sit for treats and can probably be taught more commands with a little work! A house without small animals kids 12+ is ideal.

🐶 Meet Friend — the name says it all! 💙

This sweet boy spent a whole year waiting in a shelter for a forever family before making his way to Suncoast Animal League… and now he’s ready to find the loving home he’s always deserved!

Friend is an absolute gem — smart, loving, and absolutely hilarious. He’s great with dogs of all sizes (even the tiny ones!), and is so gentle and submissive when making new friends. Just a shy glance and then he’s right over for hugs and snuggles. 🥰 and did we mention the smooches? The photos show the anatomy of his up close smooch 💋

He walks beautifully on a leash, is fully potty trained, and has the best puppy-like personality — he may still be working through a bed or toy or two, but that just adds to his charm! 🐕💙

If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and absolutely gorgeous best friend, Friend is your boy. Let’s help him find the forever family he’s been dreaming of! 🏠🐾

Meet Verna!

She is a 1.5 year old, 55lb mixed breed beauty. She is potty and crate trained. Her foster gave her a few days with the crate and then it wasn't required. She was good left out through the night and while away. She is vocal and will whine/bark to go out, play or just want your attention, in a very playful manner. She is not a barker at visitors or passerbys.

She hasn't met a human she doesn't love to show off her wiggle butt to. She's a happy girl, low energy, very chill, and will share her bed with you. She is gentle with her toys, no tug of war or shredding stuffies for this girl.

Verna loves to explore the fenced in backyard and on her walks. She is a good walker and doesn't pull. She will want to stop and take in all the new smells. She's very attentive to the wildlife, birds, squirrels and rabbits peak her interest. Cats and small dogs would not be recommended.

She is food motivated, will sit for treats and at feeding time. Her foster was teaching her to sit and wait until given ok to eat. Verna is doing great with this training.

Meet Triss

Triss is all puppy 🐶

She loves playing with her toys, playing fetch and doing zoomies. She's extremely sweet natured and wants to be beside her person at all times. She would be best as an only pet in the home. She prefers all the attention to be directed at her.
She sleeps in her crate at night with no issues. She does well on a leash but could use a little more
training.

Potty training is still a work in progress, but I have no doubt she'll be trained soon. She doesn't have any accidents in her crate. Naps are her other favorite activity and she will sleep anywhere any time and in any position. She loves belly rubs and mealtime.
Her adorable little face will melt any heart.

💙🐾 FIG UPDATE 🐾💙

Sweet Fig (aka Figgy Pudding, Fig Newton, Figero) has been through more in his short life than any puppy should. He was hit by a car and suffered injuries so severe, his front left leg had to be amputated. Not to mention the rollercoaster of health issues and the arsenal of medications needed in order for this little guy to finally have his surgery … whew … 😮‍💨 But today, he got his stitches out — WAY TO GO FIG! And way to go Caring Paws Animal Hospital Team!

—-and with this news, he’s officially ready to start the next chapter of his journey: finding a forever family to call his own. 🏡✨

Fig is alllllll heart. This brave boy is gentle, loving, and full of tail wags — even after everything he’s been through. He’s potty trained (👏🏼 rockstar!), learning his puppy manners, and has the softest eyes that will absolutely melt you. He sleeps through the night in the big bed with foster mom and his buddies Beans, Hugo & Denali… it’s quite a puppy pile 🐾

While Fig won’t be up for long walks, his dream home has a fenced-in yard where he can sunbathe, explore, and just enjoy being a dog. He lives for time outdoors, feeling the breeze and sniffing all the things. 🌞

And you know what would make his tail wag even harder? A doggie best friend or two to snuggle with and show him the ropes. He LOVES other dogs and would thrive with a furry buddy to play and nap beside. 🐶🐾

This little tripod warrior has so much love to give — and he’s ready to find the people who will love him right back.

Say hello to Chip aka Penny – the perfect blend of sweetheart and sass! 💁‍♀️🐾

We’re not exactly sure what magical combo created her, but we’re thinking a dash of Belgian Malinois or GSD, a sprinkle of Chihuahua, and a whole lot of adorable. Minus the chaos those breeds can bring—this girl is just the right amount of spicy. 🌶️💕

This petite cutie is likely to stay small to medium in size, but her personality is already full-sized.

Here’s the scoop on Chip:
✅ Crate trained – not a peep all night!
✅ Potty training is going great (a few oopsies, but she’s learning fast!)
✅ Dog & cat friendly – if your cat’s up for a little fun!
✅ Leash skills in progress & already mastering sit + stay
✅ Respects a good “no” – she’s a great listener 👂

While she hasn’t met small kiddos yet, her gentle manners and sweet nature tell us she’d do just fine.

This cutie is the kind of pup who will melt your heart, make you laugh, and keep you on your toes (in the best way). She’s ready to bring love and a little spark to a lucky family. 💖
