Owensboro Humane Society is a NO-KILL animal shelter in the Daviess County area founded in 1968. Open daily from 11:00am - 4:00pm.

We are independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization operating ONLY by donation. See available pets on our website! We are a NO-KILL animal shelter in the Daviess County area and are an independent, non-profit organization. Even though we are small in size, we are big at heart. Our size and fund restrictions limit the amount of animals we can rescue; however, we are dedicated to help as many animals as possible.

IZZY has a home! The Fishers came to see about getting a new kitty! David Fisher (Dad), adopted from us years ago! Rylee Fisher (daughter), was now looking for her own kitty, with dad. Rylee wanted a forever roomie in her new place.
After looking, -it was beautiful IZZY! What a beautiful kitty to start a new life with! IZZY loved Rylee. ❤

COCONUT has a home! Peggy had adopted from us many years ago and her sweet Westie had passed a couple a years ago. It took Peggy time to heal before looking at another furever family member. We understand! ❤
Peggy saw COCONUT and really loved him. She came in many times to make sure that COCONUT would love her home. (We all knew he would!)
Finally, Peggy had to have him and took him home. We have heard from Peggy and she loves him. It sounds like COCONUT is now living like a spoiled prince! Look at that picture. What do you think? LOL Everyone congratulate Peggy and COCONUT!

GABRIELLE and LUNA have a home! Angela Maysey came in with her son to look for "ONE" forever kitty. They filled out everything they needed to for adoption, and really wanted GABRIELLE! GABRIELLE was a beautiful tortoiseshell stray given to us just the week before. We had given her all her shots needed.
As the Mayseys were leaving with GABRIELLE, LUNA, a solid black kitty that stayed in our office, would not leave ANGELA's cute son alone! Right up to the door as they were leaving, LUNA kept playing and rolling for him and loving on him. Right then, ANGELA (MOM) said, "We want LUNA too!"
This was great, now they both had a friend forever! I have to say that LUNA played a good game here! LOL Look how happy this new family is! Everyone congratulate GABRIELLE and LUNA MAYSEY!!

SUTTON has a new great home! This little sweet Corgi mix was found in central Owensboro by Sutton Elementary school. We named him SUTTON!! We vetted SUTTON and he was the happiest of all dogs.
The French family came in looking for a new family member. They lost their beloved Corgi a while back. They were now ready to see who they could invite into their family!
After all the dogs, they couldn't help but fall in love with SUTTON. They already know the Corgi breed and SUTTON just loved them! SUTTON would stand up and lean on them as his back legs would jump up and down when with he was with his new parents. Total cuteness!
Everyone congratulate the French's new member of the family!

FLOWER HAS A GREAT HOME! George Rose came in with his children to see if they could find a new forever furbaby for their family. All the children loved FLOWER! Well, the Rose family left and George came back to adopt FLOWER! How fitting that FLOWER's new last name is ROSE!!! Everyone congratulate FLOWER ROSE!!😽😻❤️

ZEUS is adopted!❤️John Dowland came in to look at our doggies. John was looking for a bigger dog/best friend to take on walks. He had a Lab before! John really liked handsome ZEUS, a blonde lab, and knew he was the one. ZEUS is so happy for his new home! Everybody congratulate ZEUS DOWLAND! YEAH!! 🐻‍❄️

The STOVALL family was looking for a new loving member to their home. Beautiful SERAPHINA was chosen. Both SERAPHINA and one of the Stovall boys has a birthmark on their forehead! They bonded immediately!😀
SERAPHNA's named was changed to KISSIE! Everyone congratulate KISSIE STOVALL to her new furever home 😻😽😺

ZARA HAS A FAMILY! ZARA, was found at a construction site and brought to the Owensboro Humane Society. No one claimed her. We put ZARA through our clinic and made sure she was spayed and received all her shots. Our Dr, said she was very healthy!
Chloe Camus came in looking for a forever friend. When she met ZARA, she didn't need to meet any other doggies. Zara is so intensesly sweet! Chloe changed ZARA's name to PEACHES! Everyone congratulate PEACHES CAMUS!!❤️❤️
