🌻 Meet Mirasol! 🌻

Mirasol is a beautiful 1-year-old Pit Bull Terrier weighing around 40 pounds. She is fully vetted, spayed, heartworm negative, and ready to find a home where she can feel safe, loved, and understood. ❤️

Mirasol's journey hasn't been an easy one. She came into our care after being pepper sprayed during a dog fight where another dog would not let go of her. Since that traumatic experience, Mirasol has made it clear that she prefers not to be around other dogs.

While she may not want canine companions, Mirasol has plenty of love to give her people. She is affectionate and enjoys spending time with those she trusts. However, she can be protective of her kennel and personal space, so she will do best with a family that respects her boundaries and understands her needs.

Update on Cassie❤️

We have some good news to share—Cassie made it through her emergency surgery.

Our veterinary team diagnosed her with pyometra, a serious and life-threatening uterine infection that requires immediate treatment. Thankfully, she received the emergency care she needed just in time.

Cassie is now waking up from surgery and will be closely monitored as she begins her recovery. We are incredibly grateful to our veterinary team for acting so quickly and giving her the best chance possible.

Thank you to everyone who has kept Cassie in your thoughts and prayers today. Your support, and kind words mean so much to all of us. Please continue to keep this sweet girl in your prayers as she heals over the coming days. ❤️🐾

💔 Please Keep Cassie in Your Thoughts and Prayers 💔

Cassie was just surrendered into our care, and it was immediately clear that something wasn’t right. Our team quickly rushed her to our on-site veterinarian for an evaluation.

We’re incredibly grateful we acted so quickly, because Cassie is now undergoing emergency surgery. We don’t know what the outcome will be yet, but we’re hopeful and she’s receiving the care she desperately needs.

Please keep sweet Cassie in your thoughts and prayers as she fights through this. We’ll share updates as soon as we’re able.

Cassie is looking for a safe place to land. While she is not currently at the rescue, her family can no longer keep her, and we need to find a foster home as soon as possible.

Cassie will still need to be spayed, but we're hoping to get her into a loving foster home while we work on the next steps.

💙 Thankful Thursday 💙

This week we have so much to be thankful for!

A HUGE thank you to Green River Appliance and the Daviess County Fiscal Court for helping us replace our freezer.

We also received an anonymous donation of a brand-new upright freezer from Murphy's that we can dedicate to enrichment items like pupsicles and storing ice packs. This generous gift will help us provide extra comfort and enrichment for the animals in our care, especially during these hot summer months.

We're also incredibly grateful for the wonderful supporters who stopped by throughout the week with much-needed donations. Every bag of food, bottle of cleaner, toy, towel, and supply helps us continue our mission of saving lives.

A special thank you goes out to two amazing volunteers who donated their time to transport animals this past week. ❤️🐾

🚗 Mr. Faddis made the trip to Lexington Humane Society, helping animals get one step closer to brighter futures.
🚗 Laurie traveled to Nashville to meet the Best Friends Animal Society transport team as they continued their journey to Broadway, New York, giving more of our animals the opportunity to find loving homes.

These transports take dedicated volunteers willing to spend hours on the road, and we are so thankful for everyone who steps up to help.
