A pile of memories that ultimately is all because of one dog who picked up his final competition sheds yesterday. If it wasn’t for Dax we’d have never had the rest. After tearing his CCL just 10 points shy of his GRCHSD2, he finally made his retirement run to finish off his title when we knew the terrain wasn’t anything crazy.
Spree came into the weekend with 995 points waiting to finish off her Hall of Fame title. She decided to do it in style with a 2nd place finish that was only 0.12 seconds off the lead.
Beth finished third on Saturday behind Spree, but was not about to let sister Spree show her up. After also playing demo dog for a shed antler hunting demonstration on Saturday afternoon, Beth reclaimed the crown of the house with the win on Sunday as the only sub-two minute run of the day and won the combined time for the weekend.
Valka and Jimmy keep finding their footing and making progress together with two passes and she even held her own on Saturday’s challenging course.
What made the weekend even more fun was being part of having two dogs who are littermates plus one 3/4 sister to them take the top three spots on Saturday (and three of the only 4 dogs to run under 3 minute times). Talk about a family affair!
Next stop, NADD nationals and hope we can keep this fun and momentum rolling straight into next week!
