Windswept Stables We are a family owned and operated boarding facility conveniently located on Rt 16, Bennoch Rd, in Old Town.

Windswept Stables has over 30 years of experience in the boarding business, and over 40 years of experience with handling & care of horses. We are open to all disciplines of riders, from casual trail riders to competitors. Wooded trails are on the 40+ acres of property, and trails maintained by the University of Maine at Orono are just a stones throw away. We keep two riding areas; an outdoor sand

riding area, and an enclosed indoor riding ring. We do require the following vaccinations prior to your horse arriving to Windswept Stables:
Flu (4 or 5 way)
Tetanus
Rhino
EHV 1+4
West Nile
EEE
Rabies
Strangles
Windswept Stables offers not only monthly board for our long term guests, but daily and weekly rates as well for those either traveling through in need an overnight stay for the horses. These daily & weekly openings are a great alternative for "home horse owners" that are traveling without their horses and don't want to hire an "horse sitter".

It's time for a new alarm ⏰️ I know it's time to take a break from work when Buck takes his morning nap... but Buck is moving on to his retirement home, so I'm taking applications for his replacement 😉 Applicants must be organized, prompt, and have a friendly demeanor... extra treats if we keep a slow pace to and from the paddock.

This is our reason... My son and I working with (and learning from) our elders. So thankful for these days!
