Last week Maine animal club was excited to present this years “the royal” where members got to show case their hard work over the last few months halter training some of our beautiful heifers at witter farm. Each class did an amazing job presenting their cows. And a huge congratulations to Riley, who won not only her class but the finals as well!

Phoenix Feeds & Nutrition is proud to sponsor the UMaine Dairy Challenge team for the 23rd Annual North American Intercollegiate Dairy Challenge. This year it will take place in Gainesville, Florida, April 6-8, 2025. 🐄✨

Last year, the team joined over 200 students from 37 universities across the U.S. and Canada to compete in this prestigious event. The Dairy Challenge is a two and a half-day competition that enables four-person teams to evaluate a well-managed dairy farm business and then recommend management enhancements to a panel of judges comprised of industry and academic professionals.💡📈

This year’s event promises even more opportunities for learning, networking, and collaboration. We’re thrilled to support the next generation of dairy leaders as they gain invaluable experience and showcase their skills on the national stage.

Join us in cheering on the UMaine team as they prepare for the competition. Best of luck! 🍀🐄

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Kassidy Lang

Hi! My name is Kassidy and I am a senior Animal and Veterinary Science major with a pre-veterinary concentration. I have participated in MAC since Fall of my freshman year and have taken leadership roles throughout my time in the club. I was the Social Media Chair my sophomore year, Vice President my junior year, and I am finishing my senior year as the President. I have enjoyed many parts of the club but working with the members to host events, go to NESA, and work their heifers in the Royal are my favorite. Although I will greatly miss the people and animals I have encountered during my time here, I will be forever thankful for the memories and the friendships I've made along the way. I will be continuing my education at Lincoln Memorial University’s College of Veterinary Medicine where I plan to specialize in large animal medicine. I wish the best of luck to everyone next year and in all of your future endeavors, you guys are going to do great things!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Cassie LaCasse

Hey everyone, my name is Cassie! I’m a Biology major with a concentration in Ecology. This was actually my first year in MAC, and I loved it so much! I wish I got involved much earlier in my undergraduate career! Outside of school, I love spending time outside either through hiking, fishing, or spending time at my extended family’s farms. I also love to just hangout at home with my cats too! My favorite memory from MAC was the Royal. It was my first time showing a heifer before, and it was so much fun! I will miss this club so much, and I’m so thankful for the friends and memories I made in the year I was involved!
