Cool, rainy days ahead - Neel Vet is open 24/7 all weekend (and every holiday) - no appointment needed. If your pet needs us, we’re here.

Rainy Labor Day Tips:

💧 Skip puddles: Don’t let pets drink standing water (tummy upset/lepto risk).
🌩️ Storm stress: Make a quiet “safe spot”; use prescribed anxiety meds as directed - message us if you need help.
🐾 Dry those paws & coats: Towel off to prevent slips, hot spots, and skin irritation.
🌙 Be seen: Use reflective leashes/gear at dusk and in the rain.
🦟 Stay on preventives: Fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes don’t take any days off.
🍗 BBQ Hazards: Skip bones, skewers, corn cobs, grapes/raisins, and xylitol-sweetened desserts.
🌊 Water Safety: Life vests at the lake; dry those ears after swimming.
🚗 Travel Ready: Pack meds, leashes, and updated ID/microchip info.

We’re still collecting hygiene items for Positive Tomorrows. Thank you to everyone who’s donated so far!

What to bring: toothpaste/toothbrushes, soap/body wash, shampoo/conditioner, deodorant, combs/brushes.

Thank-you perk: $5 account credit per donation, up to 3 times during the drive.

Nothing but high-quality care (and creativity!) at NVH 🐾❤️

Meet our fussy friend who simply wouldn’t settle unless he could see a person. Our amazing nursing team tried everything from“Dog TV” with episodes of Bluey to a hand-crafted “person” named Bob. When all else failed, we moved him into a quieter space and voilà, much happier!

This little guy’s story reminds us that veterinary medicine isn’t just about treatments and prescriptions. It’s about understanding each patient’s unique needs and going the extra mile to make them feel safe and loved.

Summer pavement can heat up fast and burn your pup’s precious paw pads! Before you head out, test the sidewalk with the back of your hand - if it’s too hot for you, it’s too hot for them.

Quick Tips to Keep Paws Safe:

👟 Walk During Cooler Hours: Aim for early mornings or evenings when surfaces are cooler.

💦 Post‑Walk Rinse: Gently rinse paws with cool water and pat dry to soothe any irritation.

🚶‍♂️ Stick to Grass & Shaded Routes: Whenever possible, let your dog walk on grass or shaded paths.
