is a compassionate and dedicated volunteer based, limited intake pet rescue and adoption provider established in April 2007. Our goal is to give unwanted and homeless cats a chance to find love, safety and medical assistance when needed through the volunteers efforts with the financial support of private donations and grants. The PAW Chili Challenge and Hub-Cat Car Show returns on January 24th 2026 at Lake Lillian in the City of Belleview. This will be our sixth annual event celebrating our Partners in Animal Welfare with food, fun, and games. There will be amazing chili from seasoned competitors who have traveled the states perfecting their recipes. There will be a variety of the slickest cars rolling up to participate in the show. There will be raffles, bounce houses, vendors, music, and so much more to bring the celebration home!

Thank you to his caregiver Stella for fostering this wonderful fella and so many others! It is only through our efforts of love that so many of these animals are able to see better days. We are their hope! 🥲❤️

🥰☀️SAVE THE DATE!!! 🤩🐱💞 Sheltering Hands returns to PetSmart in Lady Lake from July 21st through July 27th for National Adoption Week. It's the "Purr-fect Summer"- and this will be a wonderful opportunity for so many cats and kittens to meet a wider audience all in the hopes of connecting with their new forever home! While we won't have any surfboarding kitties on hand, so many of the adorable characters we've shared here and more will be at this event in search of companionship. We are excited to share these very amazing animals in our care!!

The Sheltering Hands Thrift Shoppe is open during our regular business hours this week! Come and join us Tuesday through Saturday from 10am until 4pm. We are always stocking the shelves with new inventory, and every week we offer our patrons some great ways to save money. LOST CATS in WEIRSDALE AREA

We have just recently been notified by a very concerned adopter that two of feline friends have gone missing from their home in the Weirsdale near the Eaton's Beach area. "Georgie" and "Berkley" were adopted about one year ago from Sheltering Hands, and we need your help to spread the word about the two wayward tabby cats. They have escaped their home and have been missing since the middle of June. Their new family is devastated, and are reaching out for our help in the matter!

🥰😻🤩🤪😁Congratulations to these kittens and cats who left our care during the month of June! These lucky little ones are off to their forever homes and the new family therein. Whether they were in our care only for a few brief moments or if they felt love of many hands during their time with Sheltering Hands, these feline friends always leave a big impact on our hearts. Thank you to everyone who helps share the story of our cats as it it can often lead to the right person finding the cat at the perfect time! With your help we are able to build a stronger community more capable of aiding these animals depending on us!!!

KITTENS AVAILABLE SOON - PHOTOS FROM OUR FOSTERS

If you or someone you know is looking to bring an awesome furry friend into their family, now is a wonderful time to contact Sheltering Hands in preparation! We have more than thirty amazing little kittens throughout our foster network and organization. They will be in search of their forever homes and the perfect companions therein!
