is a compassionate and dedicated volunteer based, limited intake pet rescue and adoption provider established in April 2007. Our goal is to give unwanted and homeless cats a chance to find love, safety and medical assistance when needed through the volunteers efforts with the financial support of private donations and grants. 🥰🥲🤩HELP US SHARE THEIR STORY🥰🙀🥳 It is only through the strength of our community that so many cats and kittens can find their way to a forever home. By using networking for good, we have been able to save the lives of countless animals while fighting for feline wellness. We've built bridges of communication that have opened pathways for wayward cats to find refuge and healing. By our messages finding the right adopters, we've been able to fill the void in both the hearts of our kitties and their new companions.

Meet even more of our 😇🙀LOVE-FOR-A-LIFETIME😍🐱 Cats!!! These are just a small number of the 120+ cats currently benefiting from this program and living within a compatible foster home! What is Love for a Lifetime? Cats (age 8+) are placed with a senior human (75+) in a foster model program that allows seniors to foster a cat until the caregiver can no longer care for the cat or the cat passes. Sheltering Hands provides all needed medical care for the life of the cat and the cat can be returned to Sheltering Hands at any time.

The love of a pet provides significant health benefits to seniors and the companionship that is missing now. Many of these cats have previously lived with families and have grown accustomed to the comforts of having a home. Separated from their first owners usually due to illness or unfortunate circumstances, these cats are well-loved animals that desperately need peace after having their lives uprooted. For the feline recipients of this program, the cat can again enjoy the love and stability of a home while living out their days with dignity.❤️❤️❤️

Right now we are directly raising funds to support the Love-for-a-Lifetime program with our 😎🌞🏖"Summer Love" Holiday Silent Auction. If you want to support this effort while doing some holiday shopping for pet's and pet lover's alike, then this is the opportunity for you. All proceeds from this online only event will be dedicated to the sustainability and growth of the Love-for-a-Lifetime program. Success here means that a greater ability to serve the animals in our charge as well as creating new space for adult cats needing help!

At Sheltering Hands our goal is to make the world better - one cat at a time. We aim to achieve this through our low-cost spay/neuter services, vaccination clinics, responsible adoption program, volunteer education, and partnering with community organizations striving towards the same goal. From all of Sheltering Hands and the many cats in our community, we want to say thank you again to the Marion County FL SPCA ! The SPCA of Marion County provides a monthly grant to our clinic exclusively to cover the cost of Spay and Neuter surgeries for cats in this area. By removing the financial barriers where money stands in the way of surgery or there is no direct owner to manage the wellness of the cat, we are able to provide more of these services to animals in need. Thank you to awesome individuals in this group for giving back to the animals of your community!!!!

Please help! This is Luther and he is a recently adopted 5 year old cat from Sheltering Hands, Inc.. He escaped his home when a furniture delivery was made over a week ago. He is super friendly and microchipped. If spotted please contact Sheltering Hands at 352-840-0663, please leave a message.
