A more customized supplement plan starts with better information. 💊

With epigenetic testing, a hair sample is sent to the lab to help identify possible nutrient deficiencies. That information can then be used to create a supplement tailored more specifically to the horse in front of you.

Because not every horse needs the same thing. 🙂‍↕️

Distal tarsitis is the medical term, but most people know it as sore hocks.

Before treating a horse like this mare with hock injections, it is important to assess the joints first and make sure there is not any major pathology or another issue that should change the plan. From there, treatment can be directed where these horses most commonly get sore: the two lower hock joints.

Most people looking at a foot radiograph would never know to pay attention to this.

That darker area is called the radiolucent zone, and when it becomes enlarged, it can be an early sign of laminitis. That matters because early detection can change how quickly a horse gets help and how much can be done before the case becomes more advanced.

Sometimes the biggest finding is not the obvious one. It is the detail you know to look for.
