We’ve got FOUR to celebrate — 2 dogs and 2 cats found their forever families! 🐾💕

Fawn and Effie trotted off into their new lives, tails wagging and hearts full. Way to go, sweet girls!

🐱 Feline success stories!
Kahlua and F***g also packed their tiny suitcases and headed out on brand-new adventures with their forever families!

🐾 Huge congratulations to all these lucky pets and the wonderful humans who welcomed them home!

❤️ Meet Pepper: snuggles, smarts, and love wrapped in one adorable puppy! And he's looking for a family!
He’s currently in foster care, and his foster mom had this to share:

"We are so glad we brought him home, he has been able to open up and start letting his personality show. He is incredibly sweet, a real snuggler. Loves ball and bully sticks. He is wicked smart and at 12 weeks is already house trained pretty much and knows 'sit' and 'no'. He is easy to train, preferring verbal praise over treats. He is very loving, curious, and loves everyone, especially other dogs. He is going to make an amazing companion and we are blessed to be a part of his journey. 🧡
We are not sure about his breed, possibly beagle with some lab or another small breed."

🌲 Meet Cedar! 🌲

This 9½-year-old, 44-lb Dachshund/Lab mix is the definition of a devoted companion. If you’re looking for a loyal little shadow who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Cedar is your guy. 💕

He’s house-trained, very food motivated, and settling beautifully into his foster home. He loves the freedom of a doggy door and happily pops in and out like he owns the place. 😄

💛 About Cedar:
• Champion Snuggler – His happiest place is right beside you.
• People-Loving – He does well with children, though he may get a little excited around them.
• Other Pets – Cedar wants to make friends with dogs but sometimes forgets about personal space when he’s excited. He may be the same with cats, so he’ll need patient guidance or a home where he can soak up all the attention.

Cedar is thriving in foster care, but what he really wants is a human of his very own—someone to adore him, enjoy his cuddles, and (of course!) share all the snacks. 🥰

🌟 Happy Tails Adoption Story: Lucy 🌟
✨ Shared in honor of Adopt a Senior Pet Month ✨

Lucy was originally adopted from the shelter in 2017, but due to circumstances beyond her control, she and her housemates were surrendered back to us this past spring. Now a senior girl, life in the shelter was especially tough on her. Thankfully, Lucy was able to settle into an office with our Adoption Coordinator, where she finally had the quiet, comfort, and companionship she needed to relax and adjust.

And then—August brought Lucy’s big moment. The perfect person walked through our doors… and Lucy’s happily-ever-after began. 💛

Her new family shared this heartwarming update with us:

"Lucy, aka Lucy Goosey, LuBear, Greena beana.. has been with us for a few months now and we have learned so much about her. She just turned 9, but has so much s***k and life left to live! She loves standing outside and patrolling the neighborhood, but also saying hello to those that walk by. She enjoys a good chase with groundhogs and squirrels (we will never tell her she isn’t quick enough😉😂)
However, don’t forget that she ALWAYS values a good nap with her favorite blanket and pillow. She loves to prop her head up as she sleeps, and we learned that very quickly, so invested in a couple of small pillows (as pictured) for her. She sleeps a good portion of the day, but is ready to get up and go with a quick grab of the leash. She loves her mini lamb chop toy, and carries it wherever she goes, even in the car. We love her more than we ever thought possible; she has been the biggest blessing and soft spot in our hearts. We’re looking forward to spending the rest of her golden years with her, and we thank the Oak Ridge shelter for giving us the opportunity to do so.
Don’t count seniors out! They can be some of the best and sweetest babies."

Thank you to Lucy’s adopter for seeing the golden gem she truly is and giving her all the love, comfort, and joy she deserves in her senior years. 💛🐾
