Why are shelter animals just not FREE???
These are low estimates, but as you can see, there's a lot of expense involved with animal rescue. In addition to these routine charges, many shelter animals require additional medical attention due to the condition in which they arrive. Thanks to Friends of Oak Ridge Animal Shelter - FORAS for the 💸HUGE💸 financial assistance they provide for those needing medical attention outside the scope the Shelter is equipped for!

We have another wonderful adoption update to share. This one is a Double Feature!
❤Peaches & Cobbler’s Happy Tails❤ (shelter names Doodlebug & Mars)

We’re thrilled to share an update on our two pups, Peaches and Cobbler. As passionate doodle lovers, we are so grateful to have been able to adopt, rather than shop, for our dream dogs!

Peaches came into our lives in May 2024. This sweet girl stole our hearts with her fun, energetic, and loving nature. She’s a true love bug who always wants to be by our sides. We like to call her our fluffy shadow. Realizing how much she would benefit from a companion, we decided to support the shelter by becoming a foster family. In November 2024, we brought Cobbler into our home as our first foster dog. He came into the shelter in pretty rough shape and needed some TLC. We were immediately taken by his calm and easygoing demeanor. He quickly formed a bond with Peaches, and the two have become inseparable.

Peaches and Cobbler are living their best lives, and we feel so lucky to have them by our side! Thank you to the shelter for giving these amazing dogs a second chance. We couldn’t have asked for a better pair to complete our family! 🐾

Homeward Bound is full of happy adoptions & rescues for week ending in 3/15/25!
5 Dogs & 4 Kitties to celebrate this week!

🐶On the dog side, Lucy, Bubba, Willow, Galinda, Wizard are happily enjoying life with their new families, and we are so happy for them all!
🐱For the kitties, Maya, Necklace & Amore all got adopted! We know their new families are having so much fun with these little adventurers!
