See our success stories at http://helpingpaws37830.wordpress.com. Helping Paws Animal Network (HPAN) is a non-profit organization under IRS Section 501(c)(3). We have "Gold Transparency" status on GuideStar: https://www.guidestar.org/profile/46-0702089. HPAN strives to assist local animals (in Anderson and surrounding counties in TN) in dire situations who are hungry, hurting or homeless. We raise

funds to assist state-registered nonprofit rescue groups when funding is needed for food, shelter, vet services, boarding, etc. We prioritize verified cases based on available funds at the time of the request. We pay the veterinarian, the kennel or appropriate vendor, and/or purchase the required needs, such as food, supplies, or medicine. Please join our fundraising group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/792944066019243. Our network is made up of anyone in the general public who loves animals as much as we do. We have seven members on our Board, and all of us are volunteers who share a love for animals. Anyone, whether you know us or not, who would like to contact a team member with a comment or question may send a personal message via Facebook or send separate mail to [email protected]. We are so grateful for all our friends and supporters; you assist us in helping those that cannot help themselves. UPDATE: KOEN IS ADOPTED!!!

As of 10:00 AM this morning, the shelter is open and ready for adopters! 🐾

Koen is a sweet senior (8–10 yrs), 70-lb Boxer mix with a big body and an even bigger personality. True to his boxer roots, he’s goofy, playful, and full of love. He loves to play hard, followed up with an even harder snuggle session to follow. 💙

Senior dogs like Keon are often overlooked, but they make the best companions. He’s ready for a couch, a family, and a forever home now.

Meet Ellie! 🧡
Ellie came to us last year as an owner surrender. She was very depressed in the shelter, but thankfully she was able to spend the holidays with a loving family who got to know her a little better.

Ellie is approximately 12 years old. This sweet old gal loves her naps, but she still gets the occasional burst of zoomies when she’s feeling excited! She is potty trained, crate trained, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash. Ellie enjoys spending time outdoors, sniffing all the smells, and she’s also a fan of car rides.

Ellie is looking for a laid-back home where she can spend her golden years napping, soaking up love, and enjoying plenty of yummy treats. She adores affection and attention and needs to be the only dog. Ellie would also prefer a home without young children.

We are hoping to find Ellie the perfect retirement home. You can come meet her or apply to adopt at http://tinyurl.com/ORAS-Adoption-Application

The shelter needs to continue seeing adoptions happen! Even though two dogs got to leave this week, there are still more there and many more on the waitlist. Please share these babies!

Koen- 8-10 year old boxer mix. Dog and cat friendly. Super sweet boy who still has a lot of pep in his step. He is looking for his retirement home and would love to snuggle on the couch with you.

Dakota- Around 8 years old and a lab mix. She is medium sized and so sweet. She is very timid and fearful right now. Her world has turned upside down, and she needs a calm environment where she can come out of her shell at her own pace.

Bella- Close to a year old and sweet as can be. Bella adores people and wants to have all the attention. She would love to be in a home with no other dogs or at least a home where she can be fed separately from other pets. She has some food resource guarding. She also needs kids to be older so she doesn’t accidentally send them flying with her zoomies.

Buddy- Almost 2 year old Pyrenees mix. He is looking for a home with no small animals or livestock. He is also pretty terrified of small children, so he is only willing to go home with the less scary older kids. He is dog friendly.

Please share these dogs everywhere! The shelter needs us to step up and get some of these babies out of there!

UPDATE: ADOPTED!!!!!!!!!

🚨🐾 URGENT — BELLA NEEDS A FOSTER OR ADOPTER ASAP 🐾🚨

Bella is an almost 1-year-old husky mix, and being at the shelter is breaking her spirit. Day by day, we are watching her emotionally shut down — the spark she once had is fading. Bella is a dog who adores people, so being in a kennel instead of in a home is devastating for her.

She watches people walk past her kennel, hoping someone will stop for her… but the days keep passing and no one chooses her. She’s still just a baby, yet she hasn’t known what it feels like to truly belong to someone. 🥺

✨ About Bella:
• Almost 1 year old
• Spayed & up-to-date on vaccines
• Loves people and craves connection
• Reactive around food with other dogs and small kids
➡️ Ideal Home: Older kids who understand boundaries, or no kids at all

Bella isn’t a bad dog — she’s a confused young girl who needs guidance, love, and a place to decompress. The longer she stays here, the harder it becomes for her. Some dogs just don’t cope well with shelter life… and Bella is one of them. 💔

If you have ever thought about fostering or adopting — this is the moment it truly matters. Bella needs someone to show up. She needs quiet. She needs safety. She needs hope.
