🐾 ** Dog Training is coming back to Tails on Trails!** 🎪

Really happy to have Quentin and Kathryn Herrera of Circus Dog Training joining us again this year!

They'll be doing a live dog training demonstration before our 3-mile hike on Saturday, October 24 at Baker Creek Preserve.

If you were there last year, you know how much fun these guys are to watch! And if you weren't, you'll get to see how they work with dogs and their owners to build better communication and obedience skills.

Their demo is scheduled for around 8:40 AM, so be sure to come early!

🎉 Congratulations, Zelda! 🎉

We wrapped up Zelda's training with a final session at Melton Lake, practicing confidence and putting her skills to work in the real world. Every outing is an opportunity to learn, and Zelda did an amazing job navigating new sights, sounds, and distractions.

Meet Ollie!

Ollie is a 3-year-old Chihuahua/Miniature Schnauzer mix with a big personality and some big feelings about people. Meeting new people is hard for him—and sometimes even people he already knows can make him nervous.

When guests come to visit, Ollie's go-to strategy is to bark and bark until they leave. While that may seem like stubbornness, it's often a sign of a dog who isn't sure how to handle the situation.

We're excited to be working with Ollie and his family to build his confidence, increase his independence, and help him learn that visitors aren't something to worry about. Our goal isn't just a quieter home—it's a happier, more comfortable life for Ollie and a more peaceful experience for his parents and their guests.

🐾✨ Meet Beauty! ✨🐾

Beauty struggles with severe anxiety around people. She isn't interested in treats, toys, or affection—but she is interested in Circus! 💛

During our recent training sessions, Circus stepped into the role of emotional support dog, helping show Beauty that the world isn't quite as scary as she thinks. Sometimes the best teacher for a dog is another dog.

Beauty still has work to do, but she's already taking steps in the right direction and building the confidence she needs to tackle the world on her own.

Good boy, Circus! And keep up the great work, Beauty—you've got this! 💪🐶

🐾✨ Meet Tilly! ✨🐾

This sweet girl didn't have the best start in life and never really learned people rules or dog rules. Once we started giving her clear structure and communication, though, she began to make fantastic progress.

Her leash skills have improved dramatically, her potty training has been night and day, and she has developed a rock-solid recall. These days, she'll come running when called—even if she's busy chasing squirrels in the yard! 🐿️

We're so proud of how far Tilly has come and can't wait to see what she accomplishes next. 💛
