We put our staff to the test to see how well everyone knows the veterinarians! Which bit of trivia surprised you the most?

Extra fun fact, most of our doctors have large indoor plant collections ranging up to 200 plants...which is why our team was stumped! โ˜บ๏ธ

Here are 3๏ธโƒฃ signs that you should never ignore in your senior dog. Sometimes subtle changes at home can be an early indicator for disease. Many conditions can be managed better when treated early.

1๏ธโƒฃ Weight loss
2๏ธโƒฃ Appetite changes
3๏ธโƒฃ Mobility changes

Notice any of these? Make an appointment for one of our veterinarians to do a thorough physical exam and diagnostics soon! Our goal is to have our older pups live a long, comfortable life with your family. ๐Ÿ’•

We asked Dr. Fieser to share an experience that has brought a smile to her face recently. She says:

"Last night I had a new client rush their dog up after eating a grape. After inducing vomiting and getting the grape out, the patient just rolled over for belly rubs, tail wagging with gratitude!"

DYK that even a single grape can potentially cause permanent kidney damage? Thanks to Dr. Fieser's quick action, this pup will have many more years with their family. โค

You've probably seen the recent news stories...now what do you REALLY need to know about "Bobcat Fever" AKA Cytauxzoon felis?

๐Ÿˆ Cytauxzoon felis is a blood parasite that is carried by ticks that have fed on a bobcat. While bobcats carry this without signs, domestic cats can become very ill.

๐Ÿˆ Signs can present as fever, lethargy, appetite changes and progress quickly.

๐Ÿˆ This disease is fatal in many cats even with treatment and requires intense supportive care.

๐Ÿˆ Cats MUST have a tick bite to become infected! That means that cats with outdoor access need to be on a quality tick preventative, such as Revolution Plus, monthly. Even better, leave kitties indoors and safe.

Vet visits are scary for our feline friends! We want to make sure that everyone has a good experience. You can do a few things at home that make a big difference.

A few extra tips:

๐Ÿ˜ปPheromones, such as Feliway, sprayed on a warm blanket in the carrier.

๐Ÿ˜ปFast for a few hours ahead of the visit leaving them extra hungry for snacks.

๐Ÿ˜ปDon't wait in the scary lobby! Whenever possible, we like to let you wait in the quiet car if an exam room isn't immediately available.

๐Ÿ˜ปCarry your carrier like a fragile gift - less movement and scary encounters.
