We asked our team to share favorite products. Vet tech Liz shares:

"Dermoscent essential 6 spot on that I used on my cat, Garcia. I love that product. It did wonders on his coat and dandruff! Especially as he got older."

This unique product is recommended for restoring the skin barrier, soothing itching associated with a cat's dry, flaky skin, minimizing flaking and itching, and supporting a healthy coat. It's also available in a dog formula.

In honor of "Bring Your Dog To Work Day", let us introduce you to Dr. Amberle's two pups, Guppy and Raphael. They join her as office guard dogs daily. Guppy is a 15 year old chihuahua and has been a tag along since the very first day that Dr. Amberle opened BRAH. Raphael is a 3 year old miniature cheagle (his DNA test says he's chihuahua/beagle/miniature pinscher) and will ferociously bark at anyone not bribing him with attention or treats.

Sami shares her favorite weight loss success story:

"My favorite patient transformation was when Dr. Amberle placed an overweight lab (probably near 50+ lbs overweight) on Hill's Metabolic + Mobility diet. The family was very compliant and even had a treat jar with the kibble on the counter instead of the previous treats. The only activity were short, daily walks to eventually playing in the backyard as the pounds started shedding. The patient went from hobbling around and not being able to be as active as it could to running, playing, and jumping in the vehicle. The monthly weight checks were so satisfying to see all of the consistency paying off - not only on the scale but visually as well. We went from seeing a rounded shape to having an abdominal tuck and an hourglass figure from the bird's eye view. One of the best things was seeing how happy the lab was - wasn't panting as heavily, a lot quicker to get up and down, became eager to play with toys and all around was LIGHTER!"

We are so excited to announce that Jordan has been accepted to University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine! She started out as a student shadowing and moved her way up to assisting. Jordan has been a great asset to our team and will be greatly missed. We hope it's just a short-term good bye and we will see her back as Dr. Johnson one day.

Please leave your well wishes for Jordan in the comments. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ

Our tech team starts preparing for your visit before you even arrive! These ladies work hard to make sure they know your pet's favorite snacks, any vaccinations they are coming due for, plus cleaning/restocking between visits.

๐Ÿพ Did you know? We keep an "emotional record notes" section within the medical record? This lets us keep detailed notes about preferences that make your pet more comfortable. It ranges from favorite treats, best place to do the exam, blood draw location, and more. Some even have notes about coming in a different clinic entrance to reduce stress! It's all part of making your pet have their best visit possible.

Puppies are adorable and one of our favorite visits! Here are 3๏ธโƒฃ things you NEED to know.

๐Ÿถ Patience is essential - for housebreaking, chewing, learning manners, getting through each day.

๐Ÿถ Your puppy is going to be wild and unruly. Just like a toddler, they need to be gently directed to good behaviors and rewarded for the good things.

๐Ÿถ Puppy classes teach basic behaviors to the dogs, provide good socialization time with other puppies and people, and (most importantly) teach people how to best communicate with our puppy and develop a good relationship. Even experienced dog owners can benefit from going to puppy classes.

Success stories stay with us for many years! Let's hear about one from Dr. Loder that continues to bring her joy.

"Dog presented with enlarged abdomen. Radiographs showed a large mass in the middle of the abdomen. Surgically removed a 10 lb splenic mass. Biopsy showed it was a benign (non-cancerous mass). Dog went on to live for several more years." --Dr. Loder

We enjoy being part of our community! Dr. Vricella learned about a large number of finches coming through and was able to help a few lucky finches find a new home at . The children were delighted to have feathered friends to keep them company. This is one of many ways that we partner with our community.

Did you know? Growing up with a pet offers incredible developmental advantages for children. A feathered, furry, or scaley companion helps build responsibility and empathy, provides nonjudgmental emotional support, and can even boost immune health.
