We traveled to Gridley last weekend for Spooktacular, hosted by Silver Streaks and Pacific Pups. It was a lovely tournament, with lots of special details, including a very spooky photo booth and a delicious taco dinner on Saturday night. Our skeleton crew (😁) of 5 handlers ran two teams with "a little help from our friends" (thank you so much Marie, Nancy, Donny, and everybody who helped with the giant box beasts and setting jumps!).

We raced well, but our biggest news is that Sisu had an extremely successful debut, not putting a single foot wrong, and earned his FD and FDX!

ALSO - Dice earned his FGDCH (30k) and Neon earned his FDCH-G.

The featured video is Baloo, Jolene, Bliss, and Sisu.

Hi 👋!

It was suggested that we highlight this overnight camping rule for the Time Flies tournament in November:

“All RVs using a generator must have a proper exhaust pipe venting away from dogs and people – Quiet time: 10pm–6am - NO generators.”

This was in the contract which you signed when you booked your site. Based on experience, they will vigorously enforce this rule.

The spaces are pretty close together so their request to have exhaust routed away from dogs and people is a courtesy to your neighbors and not an uncommon request to find at smaller campgrounds.

If you have an outboard generator just face the exhaust towards the back fields.

The NO Generators at the end of the sentence is just emphasizing not during quiet hours.

If you need an exhaust pipe, Google “RV exhaust pipe” for a visual and some links to purchase. Gen-Turi is a popular brand.

Thank you! See you soon!

We are devastated to announce the unexpected loss of Dawn’s beloved brown boy, Velo.

For almost his entire career, Velo was the fastest dog on our team, with a recorded PB of 3.566. He helped our clubs win multiple regional championships. He loved his mama and raced best for her, but would also run for his favorite flyball “auntie” when necessary. He helped to train so many of our new dogs to play the game, from recalls with puppies to head-to-head and passing.

Velo was also an accomplished agility and nosework competitor. He was Marin Humane Behavior & Training’s social ambassador as well, demonstrating his skills and making friends at a variety of MH events.

After he retired last year due to an injury, we were all so happy whenever he stopped by practice for a visit. We’ll miss seeing him mosey around during set-up, schmoozing for petting and ball tosses. We’ll miss his sweet, funny, quirky personality, the pouting when you didn’t pay him proper attention, that mischievous look in his eye right before he booped you in the face, and his utter joy when you offered him a good butt scratch.

Run free, sweet boy, and catch all the balls, frisbees, and bunnies your heart desires.
