So as you can see we have many faces looking for homes. We share our facility with another town so we fill up much faster. With only 14 cages between two towns we currently have 10 dogs here right now. That doesn’t leave a whole lot of room for emergencies, strays or quarantines. Currently we have Nala, Molly, Nemo, and Charlie looking for homes. The other dogs are all from the other town. If interested PLEASE contact us directly at 203-239-5321 xt 8250

This little guy was picked up as a stray and no one has come forward for him. We have named him Charlie. Charlie is approximately 6-9mo. He’s a super sweet little guy. He knows sit but has a ton of puppy energy so still needs some leash work. He completely ignored the cat we have here and seems like all he wants to do is play with the other dogs but meet and greets are still required. And did we mention the ears… they go on for miles😂❤️. For more info or to adopt please contact the shelter directly at 203-239-5321 xt 8250

🍂🚗 Stay Safe This Autumn! 🦌✨

As the leaves turn golden and the days grow shorter, autumn also marks the peak season for wildlife activity on the roads. Deer and other animals are more active during this time, especially around dawn and dusk.

🌙 Why it matters:
• Wildlife crossings can happen suddenly and unexpectedly.
• Collisions can cause serious harm to both drivers and animals.
• Slowing down and staying alert saves lives.

📍 Safety Tips:
• Watch for Deer Crossing signs and reduce your speed.
• Buckle up—seatbelts save lives.
• Be extra cautious in rural and forested areas.

Every safe choice helps protect both people and wildlife. Let’s share the road responsibly this season. 🌍💚

We know adoptions are down everywhere. We are not the exception. However we are really hoping for these three that there is someone out there willing to give them a chance.
PENDING ADOPTION
Nala has been with is since March. She has been spayed and vaccinated. We have given her time and worked with her on her dog socialization. Nala still needs to do meet and greets with other dogs but she may be able to go to a home with another dog. Nala is a big girl with lots of love to give. She is a great girl who will give you as kuch love as you give her.
Molly is a good girl woth lots if energy. She kives people but is not a fan of other dogs and is a little to interested in cats for is to feel comfortable in a home with them. Molly needs some training but is very food motivated shes also very smart.
And last but certainly not keast we have Nemo.
Nemo is a good boy. Hes good with other dogs but meet and greets are still required. He seems gine with cats shiwing no interest in them. He is very treat motivedamd knows some basics. Fir more info or to adopt any of these dogs pkease call the office directly at 203-239-5321 xt 8250

A huge THANK YOU as always to A Place Called Hope. Yesterday we received a call about an injured hawk. When we arrived the hawk was already contained in a small dog cage by the home owner, so we were unable to assess the bird. We reached out to APCH and without hesitation they took the hawk in. It was quickly determined that this was a young female and there was nothing majorly wrong with her so after a good nights rest and some food we went and picked her up. We were able to release her not far from where she was gotten. It’s very important that when you think you have sick or injured wildlife you contact either DEEP, your local AC or a licensed rehabilitator. Thank you again to APCH for always helping.
