We have SO many amazing dogs here at NACC! If you have ever wondered what it would be like to foster for NACC, here are some comments our fosters have made:

"My family has been fostering for NACC for a little over a year now and it has been an eye-opening and wonderful journey that has brought us closer together. Just when you thought Christmas in July couldn't get any cuter... 🎅☀️ Part 2 is here! We had the absolute best time seeing so many happy faces visiting with Summer Santa last month. Thank you to everyone who came out, donated to the Norfolk Animal Care Center Pet Pantry, and made this one of our favorite events of the year! See you next year!

Our chickens got to enjoy a farm to table charcuterie board with produce from our garden!

Meet Kevin, Henley, and Roger. These 3 chickens have been with us for a few weeks and are ready to find a home where they can flourish. Kevin is a friendly rooster that loves to crow, Henley is a shy girl that would love a home where she can learn what it means to be a chicken, and Roger is in his angsty teen phase.

Norfolk Animal Care Center is proud to be participating in Clear the Shelters, a month-long, nationwide annual pet adoption campaign led by NBCUniversal. For the entire month of August, all of our adoption fees will be half off! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Thanks to Friends of the Norfolk Animal Care Center's Golden Paws program, our senior pet adoption fees will be waived for the entire month.

Not ready to adopt? There are other ways you can support the animals at NACC:

· Foster: Open your home to an animal in need. NACC provides the supplies and veterinary care – you provide the love! Email [email protected] to learn more.

· Volunteer: Join NACC’s team of dedicated volunteers who help care for animals and support shelter operations. Email [email protected] or visit www.norfolk.gov/VolunteerNACC to get started.

Adoptions are half off all month long at Norfolk Animal Care Center in celebration of Clear the Shelters, and that means you can take this friendly, curious, playful, affectionate one-year-old home for just $35!

Visit Norfolk Animal Care Center on Sabre Road, open Thursday through Tuesday from 1:30 to 6:00 p.m., and meet the wonderful dogs, cats, guinea pigs, chickens and more waiting for loving homes!
