Serenity Trail A Feline Sanctuary is sending out a bittersweet thank you to Michael and Linda Armstrong for the donation they left at my door on Thursday. Sadly, their 17 year old kitty, Pachyderm, crossed over the rainbow 🌈 bridge last month.

I have been cat sitting for sweet Pachyderm for the past 6 years whenever Michael and Linda went on trips.
When I opened the box and saw the items belonged to Pachy (they had already told me about her passing), it made me cry🥲.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Sending Blessings to Michael and Linda and the Spirit of Sweet Pachyderm.

FREE WEBINAR!!
Help those who can't help themselves!!

It's ! 🐈💛🐈💙🐈 Spring and kitten season are here, and Bideawee and other shelters and rescue groups will soon be inundated with kittens needing help and homes. While some of these kittens will have been raised by their attentive mothers, others, sadly, will be orphaned bottle babies. Many of them will be barely days old, sickly, fragile, and in desperate need of human TLC to thrive and grow into healthy mini felines, ready for adoption.

Bideawee's Feral Cat Initiative invites you to sharpen your kitten season skills by learning how to save these precious lives at our free "Bottle-Feeding & Care of Orphaned Kittens" webinar on Wednesday, April 22, 2026. Please join us, and spread the word to friends who also may want to volunteer to help kittens this year!

Can't attend on 4/22? No problem! Everyone who registers will receive links to the webinar recording and handout the next day.

Animal rescue isn’t about skillset—it’s about mindset. My perspective is that what unites animal rescuers isn’t our technical skills, but rather our deep ethos of stubborn hope.

Rescuers not only believe in the animals, but we believe in ourselves, sometimes against great odds. We believe that even if we don’t know what we’re doing, we can take the steps to learn. We believe that even if we have no complete plan, we can take the steps to figure one out. We take the leap and trust that our feet will follow. And in doing so, we find that we really can be heroes. We really can save lives.

If you’re wanting to get involved in kitten fostering but you don’t have the skills yet, know this: the skills will come. If you have the mindset to want to help, you’re already halfway there. Take the leap and trust your feet to follow. This is the time of year when so many kittens need someone, and you can be that someone.

And if you want to learn skills, I’ve got you covered. Visit my website KittenLady.org which is filled with articles, videos, webinars, charts, books, audiobooks, printable resources, and other educational tools to help you learn.

Photo is from my talk at Los Angeles Public Library last weekend. What a great time we had! My next stop is SEATTLE this weekend with Seattle Humane, and I can’t wait to see some of you there. Register at KittenLady.org/events 🖤

Please keep Foster, our sweet FIV boy, in your prayers today. He is having a dental at Lighthouse Veterinary Care for Cats.
They called a while ago and suggested 11 extractions.
He had recently started drooling, so I knew he had a dental issue.
We began Foster's care at Lighthouse on March 6, our first time there. After the uncalled for death of our sweet Ringo, I just can't bring myself to return to Pet Care.
On March 6th, we established our relationship with Lighthouse, had Foster's vaccinations updated and made a deposit for his dental.
On March 19th, we returned for Foster's predental
bloodwork.
We used our Care Credit account to pay for both visits because they give us longer to pay without interest, today will max it out, so we'll move to credit cards.

I have never been good at asking for donations, especially when there are so many larger rescues in need, who are able to do so much more for so many more than we, so I've always tried to pay my own way.
However, we sure could use your help with our sweet Foster's dental.

If you are able and would like to donate, you may call Lighthouse Veterinary Care for Cats, by 4pm pick up time, at 757-447-9750 to donate to Foster's dental under Carolyn Harris account.

Every dollar is appreciated, we are a small home-based sanctuary for feral and community cats and are a 501(c)3 nonprofit, therefore, your donations are tax deductible.

Every year on March 17, I post about Saint Gertrude, Patron Saint of Cats.
Recently there's been a lot going on...and I've been a bit distracted and forgot to post yesterday...so, here's a borrowed post from yesterday, which is really about EVERYDAY!!

Blessings to ALL CAREGIVERS OF ALL ANIMALS 💜🐾❤️!!

Today, on Saint Gertrude of Nivelles’ feast day, we celebrate a quiet protector of the most misunderstood and overlooked souls… our cats.
Saint Gertrude is known as the patron saint of cats, travelers, and those in need of comfort. It’s said that she watched over both people and animals, offering kindness where it was needed most—especially to the small, the unwanted, and the forgotten.
If she were here today, I think she’d be sitting beside the scared feral, the sick kitten, the ones the world looks past… reminding them they matter.
And maybe that’s what rescue really is—being a little bit like Gertrude.
Showing up.
Loving anyway.
Caring for the ones no one else will.
So tonight, hug your kitties a little closer—especially the shy ones, the broken ones, the ones still learning to trust. They are so worthy of love.
And if you’re out there feeding a feral colony, trapping to help, or opening your home to one who needed a chance… know this: you are doing sacred work.
💚🐾
