This morning, a deceased black and white domestic longhair cat was recovered on Pole Bridge Road in Sandy Hook after being struck by a vehicle. The cat was wearing both a flea collar and an orange collar with a reflective stripe, but unfortunately, no microchip was detected. If you believe this may be your pet, please contact the shelter at 203-426-6900. Thank you.

Meet Duncan! He is a two year old Yellow Lab that needs his forever home. He is extremely friendly, loving and does not have a mean bone in his body. He gets along great with adults, children and other dogs.
He is incredibly smart and spent some time doing narcotics and explosive detection work but it was not the type of situation that he went home with his handler, he stayed in a kennel and it was not a happy situation for him so my family took him in and gave him lots of love, fed him very well because he was extremely underweight with the understanding that once he got to a happy place, we would find him a wonderful home.
He needs the right owner that has time to spend with him and train him. He learns very quickly and is motivated by food and rewards. He loves to play and will chase a tennis ball until your arm gives out! He is very high energy and part of his training was jumping over things so he can jump pretty much any gate or fence so a fenced in yard will not keep him safe.
He is micro chipped and up-to-date on all of his vaccines and veterinary needs. He is healthy and does not take any medication.

ADOPTABLE “Garfield” Please send adoption inquiries to [email protected]

DISCLAIMER: Garfield is FIV positive, he cannot be adopted with another cat unless that cat is also FIV positive.

Garfield is a gentle, loving 4 year old boy seeking a quiet home. When he isn’t spending his time napping, he is brushing up against his people and hoping to get a nice scratch behind the ears. He would make an excellent companion for a single person or a couple looking to adopt!

ADOPTABLE "Cash" Please send adoption inquiries to [email protected]

Cash is a mature 55lb boy, who we believe to be around 7 years old. While slow to introduce himself, once you become a recognizable scent, he dotes on his human friends. He was part of a hoarding case and LOVES the company of other dogs. He’s visually impaired but because sight is not as important to dogs as smell and hearing, he’s able to navigate the world quite well, especially if he has a canine buddy by his side. In a short time, he’s begun mastering leash skills and is ready for other challenges. He'd do best in a home with at least one other friendly, playful dog who can show him the ropes in his new home.

ADOPTED!

ADOPTABLE "Thor" Please send adoption inquiries to [email protected]

Thor is a 4 year old 60lb cool-looking Bull Terrier mix who always seems to have a smile on his face. Not only does he advocate for taking regular brisk walks, but he also loves going for a swim and getting a pat on the ribs and a smooch on the snout, or playing with a ball in the yard. We recommend that he be the only pet in the home. When introduced to late-elementary/middle school aged kids, he did very well. Thor loves a structured home and would thrive with an everyday routine and daily exercise!
