Not every dog walks in ready to fall asleep on the table. This one did.

That kind of relaxed doesn't happen by accident. It's what happens when a dog has been coming to a calm, one-on-one appointment long enough to know nothing bad is going to happen here.

Sometimes the biggest compliment isn't the haircut. It's a dog who's comfortable enough to nap through it.

We just came from Two Hounds Public House and wanted to share! ❤️ They’re hosting a fundraiser right now until 8pm to support the local businesses affected by the fire in Newtown.

The transformation people notice is visual. The one that matters most to the dog is physical.

Nails that had gotten too long change the way a dog stands and walks. There's pressure on the joints that shouldn't be there. A good trim and suddenly they're moving differently.

Matted fur pulls on the skin constantly. Not dramatically, but enough. It's uncomfortable in a way the dog can't tell you about and can't fix on their own.

Packed hair between the paw pads affects traction. Hair in the ear canal causes irritation. A coat that's holding moisture against the skin becomes a problem long before it looks like one.

None of that shows up in a before-and-after photo.

But it's the part of grooming that actually changes how a dog feels day to day. Not just how they look walking out the door.

That's what we think about at the table. The visible result and the one underneath it.

🐾 A Friendly Reminder About Our 24-Hour Cancellation Policy

We know many of you are already familiar with our cancellation policy, but we wanted to share why it's so important to us.

Many grooming salons require 48–72 hours' notice, but we've chosen to offer 24 hours because we know Connecticut weather can be unpredictable. We want to give everyone the opportunity to see what the forecast looks like before making a decision. If the weather is unsafe and you don't feel comfortable driving, we completely understand—your safety always comes first.

Our only request is that, whenever possible, cancellations are made at least 24 hours in advance. Same-day cancellations and no-shows are extremely difficult to fill, even with a cancellation list.

Because our groomers work on commission only, a last-minute cancellation means they lose income they were counting on. As business owners, we still have a responsibility to take care of our employees, so these missed appointments impact both your groomer and our small business.

Thank you for understanding and for respecting our policies. Your consideration helps us continue providing the one-on-one care that makes our salon so special. We truly appreciate each and every one of you! ❤️🐾

A little extra care for those pearly whites. 🦷

Our Doggy Dental Hygienist comes in every third Friday of the month to do anesthesia-free teeth cleanings. The next visit is Friday, August 21st.

It's a nice way to add some extra dental care into your pup's routine alongside their regular grooming appointment.

Spots fill up, so if you'd like to get your dog on the schedule, send us a message and we'll help you find a spot.

Since we've taken over ownership almost two years ago, we've been working hard to build something special at Groomer Has It—not just a grooming salon, but a calm, one-on-one, truly stress-free environment where every dog is treated like family. We want your dogs to be excited to see us when they walk through our doors, and we never want grooming to feel rushed, scary, or overwhelming.

Finding the right team hasn't been easy. We aren't looking for the fastest groomers—we're looking for groomers who are patient, compassionate, and genuinely care about every dog's individual needs.

Because we're working with living, moving animals, our schedule can change throughout the day. No two appointments are ever the same. Every dog has their own personality, comfort level, coat condition, health concerns, and unique quirks that deserve our full attention. While we sometimes finish ahead of schedule, there are days when a dog simply needs a little extra time, patience, or reassurance—and we'll never rush a dog just to stay on the clock. When your pup is on our table, they are our entire focus.

We hope you'll continue to extend us a little grace when that happens.

If you're looking for a 40-minute groom, we may not be the right fit—and that's okay. Our priority will always be providing quality care over rushing through appointments. We believe building trust and creating a positive experience is far more important than racing the clock.

One thing many people don't realize is that when a dog sees their owner before the groom is finished, they often become so excited that it can make the grooming process take longer and more difficult to complete safely. You'll receive a text roughly 15 minutes before your dog is ready for pickup, giving you time to head our way.

Most importantly, we ask that our team be treated with kindness and respect. We promise we're doing our very best every single day to provide the safest, happiest experience possible for your furry family members.

We're incredibly thankful for each and every one of you who has supported our vision and trusts us with their beloved pets. Your kindness and patience mean more to us than you know. ❤️❤️🐾

Cage-free isn't just a policy. It changes the whole experience for the dog.

In a high-volume salon, a dog might spend time waiting in a crate before their appointment even starts. Listening to other dogs bark. Building anxiety before anyone has even picked up a brush.

By the time they get to the table, they're already wound up.

Here, there's no waiting in a kennel. No background noise from a room full of stressed dogs feeding off each other. Your dog comes in, and the appointment starts.

That matters more than people realize. A dog who hasn't been sitting in a crate for two hours is a different dog to work with. They're calmer. More settled. More able to actually get through the appointment comfortably.

It's one of those things that doesn't show up in the finished photo. But it shapes the entire experience from the moment they walk in.
