When a storm is approaching, having a plan in place can help reduce stress and keep both you and your pets safe.

✔️ Update ID tags and microchip information
✔️ Keep vaccine records and a recent photo of your pet readily available
✔️ Pack an emergency kit with food, water, medications, and comfort items
✔️ Have carriers and leashes ready to go
✔️ Know where you'll evacuate and confirm pet-friendly accommodations ahead of time

But before the splash days, walks, and backyard playtime begin, remember that smart summer fun starts with keeping pets safe in the heat.

Florida temperatures and humidity can become dangerous quickly, especially for:
• Senior pets
• Puppies and kittens
• Brachycephalic breeds like Bulldogs, Pugs, and Frenchies
• Pets with darker or thicker coats

Even short periods outdoors can lead to overheating faster than many people realize.

And don’t forget about indoor pets, too 🏡
Sunny windows, warm floors, and limited airflow can make indoor spaces hotter than expected. Keep fresh water available, maintain cool airflow, and provide comfortable shaded spots throughout the day.

After Riley’s dental and oral surgery with Dr. Lerman, comfort and monitoring became our focus as she recovered with warm blankets, gentle handling, and lots of love from our team.

Dental and oral surgeries are about so much more than cleaning teeth. Many painful issues, including damaged teeth, infection, inflammation, and disease hiding below the gumline, can only be found through a full oral exam and dental imaging performed under anesthesia. Left untreated, these problems can continue to worsen silently over time.

At Jonesville Animal Hospital, we believe advanced care should also feel comforting. From surgery to recovery, we want every pet to wake up knowing they’re cared for.

Gracie is officially in her “defying gravity” era ✨🩷💚

At just 16 weeks old and already 20 pounds, she’s growing faster than her family can keep up with. One minute she’s a tiny puppy… the next she’s taking up both arms for cuddles. 😂

We loved seeing Gracie and her mom for her last puppy visit before she graduates into her big girl wellness care.

We had a special visit from 13 Top Blue at , who stopped by from Orlando with an incredible donation of pet supplies. Eden had a blast with the team and had even more fun inspecting all the donations!

From cozy blankets to toys and essentials, this team showed up for pets in a big way.

Dr. Lerman helped carry that kindness forward by delivering all donations to the Humane Society of North Central Florida, making sure they go right where they’re needed most.

Thank you, 13 Top Blue, for using your platform to give back to pets and our community. You’re making a difference on and off the court.
