Today was my very first collie's birthday (for reference, she would've turned 25 today!). I met her in vet school on a dermatology rotation because she had severe mange. The owner had given up and wanted her euthanized. I refused to euthanize for a treatable disease and offered to adopt her. I was given a "C" on that rotation because I refused to euthanize and offered the clients another option to rehome her! Thanks to my professors for showing me their true colors and helping to show me what kind of vet I would become!
