Wheek Care Guinea Pig Rescue's mission is to provide rescue, medical, and sanctuary services to all guinea pigs while also providing boarding, grooming, bonding, and respite. Medical Care
Wheek Care provides medical care to any guinea pig with health issues. Guinea pigs with health complications preventing adoption will remain within Wheek Care until the health issues are resolved. In some

cases, the guinea pig will need sanctuary at Wheek Care for the remainder of its life, no matter how long that may be. Wheek Care Guinea Pig Rescue also provides palliative and respite care when deemed necessary. Adoption & Fostering
Adoptions occur through the Wheek Care website, Petfinder, and local events in our communities. Education
Guided by decades of experience and a general passion for guinea pigs, Wheek Care is qualified to educate the general public and potential adopters on proper guinea pig care. The goal of education is to assist people in becoming better equipped to care for their own guinea pigs, as well as making informed decisions as to whether or not a cavy is the right companion animal for their families

Today is Giving Tuesday, a day that all non profits pray that people will donate. Wheek Care is no different, but today, we had something more important on our minds, one little piggie that was thrown outside with his 2 brothers. The brothers were lucky enough to be caught before the snow hit but the third eluded being caught. We were so worried about him, that we didn't even think to ask for donations. We asked for prayers, and thanks to Ken and Lori Martin, he was caught and is now safe and warm.

So, as the night moves on, I'm not going to ask for donations, but would like to thank those who have donated.

Wheek Care is proud to help those that need help, get medical care for sick piggie, and educate people thinking to adopt (and even long term owners).

So, if you can see your way to donate, we appreciate it and if you have donated, THANK YOU!

UPDATE 3: The third piggie, a boy, HAVE BEEN CAUGHT!

UPDATE 2: The weather is about to get really bad. Anyone that lives in the area of 398 Hook Street, please help find this last poor piggy. If anyone catches it, please email the rescue ([email protected]) and let us know. We will arrange transport. I pray it stays safe.

UPDATE: BRIDGEVILLE; Well, there's good news and bad news, and even worse news. First the worst news: 5 piggies were thrown away to live in the woods back in March. 2 piggies have since passed. The bad news is one pig remains loose, but the good news is 2 piggies are on their way to the rescue and will be starting a new and much better life. People are encouraged to keep an eye out for the third piggie. Our job isn't done until we have all three.

3 Loose piggies in Bridgeville

I'm not able to get in touch with our trapper/transporter right now and I'm very concerned about these piggies. If anyone can help catching them, the rescue can take them in. The weather is turning nasty tonight and I don't think they could survive in the cold.

GIVING TUESDAY is almost here! It's the one day and year where we ask you to please donate to the rescue. These funds are so important to use. They are the primary funds that help pay for all of the daily necessities, such as food, hay and medical for the piggies. Without you and your donation, it is hard for us to do what we need to for the piggies. Won't you please help us to help the guinea pigs. Remember, pennies can become dollars!

You can donate to us at:
PayPal: [email protected]

Venmo: [email protected]

We can't do it without your help.

THANK YOU! Two words that we often use to express our gratitude for people adopting piggies or making donations when their beloved piggie passes.

But not this time. This time we use those words to express our overwhelming gratitude to so, so many people that answered our call for help for donations so that we could adequately care for the 2 hoarding cases we got in last week.

The generosity from so many people in these questionable times was mind boggling. From the bottom of my heart, I THANK each and every one who donated financially or purchased supplies towards the care of the piggies. Your generosity has truly been amazing.

I honestly don't know what else to say other than THANK YOU!!

HELP NEEDED! Within 10 days Wheek Care Guinea Pig Rescue took in 2 hoarding case. The first was a hoarding case out of Virginia where 13 piggies of varying ages were brought in. It was the worst case of mass starvation i have ever seen. But thankfully, we were able to save all but one. None days later we took in 22 from Lollypop Farms SPCA in Rochester, NY. They were all males and most of them were fairly young. All had bite wounds, piggie lice or fungal.

These intakes have and are continuing to use up our medical reserves.

Every cage is full and supplies, especially food, is being used at warp speed.

It's been a long time since I've had to ask, but right now, Wheek Care could use some monetary donations. Anything would help... even if it's just a few dollars.

We also have wonderful piggies available for adoption. Getting these babies into their forever home is the best gift. Some are still very skittish, but it's nothing that patience and love can't fix. We hope to have pictures within the next week.
