We encourage you to give an animal a second chance by adopting a shelter pet. Adopted cats and dogs are spayed/neutered, micro-chipped and vaccinated against rabies before you take them home, which saves you hundreds of dollars.

We’ve said it once, we’ve said it twice, and we’ll keep saying it… we NEED kitten fosters! 🐱🍼

Right now, we have nearly 200 cats and kittens in our care, and foster homes are critical in helping us save lives during kitten season. Whether it’s tiny bottle babies, playful kittens, or a mama cat with her babies, fostering gives them a safe place to grow while freeing up much-needed space in the shelter.

It was an exciting day at DAS as GRU officially found his new family! 🐾

His adopters traveled all the way from Orlando to meet him, and we’d say it was meant to be. Even more special, GRU now joins two canine siblings, including one dog adopted from DAS more than four years ago. Seeing families come back to adopt again is one of the greatest compliments we could receive.

Happy tails, GRU! We can’t wait to see all the adventures ahead for you and your new family. ❤️
