Teaching down stay at a restaurant is a great training environment to teach a dog how to stay with all the distractions around them people eating and talking and also people drinking. It’s good for them to see and smell that and still have to listen to their. Do you want them to learn to stay in the same location that you asked it so if they make it to your feet like foxy diid then you have to take them back to the same location and tell them to down stay . Rewards in this environment are very important and what’s even more important is that you have practiced this in your home in your yard at a park you definitely do not want this to be your first location to practice and introduce a dog to sit stay or down stay.

Why do they jump , bite,and get in your space ? It’s how Dogs play. They don’t know that’s a bad behavior in their world. The only one that would set those rules would be a Pack Leader .

Training a puppy to learn to go to a Matt and what we call ( place command)is not always easy to teach but once they learn to go to that location, then they learn to do the down and down stay it’s a great behavior if you’re on the road visiting Friends if you’re at home with Guest that come over it’s their safe spot . again, I can’t say enough about never training a dog without a leash too many parents do it and then they wonder why The Dog doesn’t listen. You have to do everything on leash until you no longer would need that leash. Parents have to be consistent with Clear communication in a calmly manner every day every minute every hour there is no one day it’s OK and the next day it’s a free day then all you’re doing is consistently teaching your dog confusion. This is a puppy and she’s doing fantastic.
