Please join us in welcoming our newest associate veterinarian, Dr. Annabelle Altman, to the Solid Rock Veterinary Clinic team!
Dr. Altman is a recent graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine and is excited to begin her career in mixed animal practice right here in Southern Illinois.
She grew up on a farm in Northwest Indiana, where her love for livestock began at an early age through farrowing and showing pigs at the national level starting at just 3 years old. During her 10 years in 4-H, she showed multiple livestock species and developed a passion for both animal care and agriculture.
Dr. Altman completed her undergraduate degree at Southern Illinois University, where she had the opportunity to work at Solid Rock Veterinary Clinic as a veterinary assistant. Veterinary school then took her to the University of Missouri, where she further developed her interests in equine and production medicine. During that time, she also had specialized opportunities to work cattle in Wyoming and varied equine focused experiences in Texas.
Many of you may already recognize Dr. Altman from her previous time with our clinic, and we are thrilled to welcome her back in this new role. She is passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care to both small and large animal patients and looks forward to building relationships with local pet owners and livestock producers alike.
When she’s not in the clinic, Dr. Altman enjoys spending time outside hiking or inside with a good book. Wherever she is though, her golden retriever, Jarvis, is never far behind! 🐾”
