🐾 A Betsy Update! 🐾

Betsy is doing very well with her foster family, too! ❤️

She’s been dealing with a little seasonal allergy trouble lately—and honestly, we can relate. 😅 But her foster mom is right on top of it, and Betsy is getting the treatment she needs and plenty of TLC.

Meanwhile, Richard has had a setback or two with his health, but he’s healing day by day. And through those unexpected bumps in the road, there’s one less thing he has to worry about:

Betsy is safe.

She’s being cared for, she’s being loved, and she’s exactly where she needs to be while Richard works toward getting well enough to come home to her.

Sometimes healing doesn’t happen in a straight line. Sometimes there are setbacks. But knowing your best friend is safe can make all the difference.

Because healing is POSSIBLE when your pet is safe. 🐾❤️

🐾 A Bobby Update! 🐾

Remember Bobby, the 10-month-old Boxer who came to us when his veteran needed a safe place for him?

Well… Bobby is doing GREAT with his foster! ❤️

As it turns out, Bobby and his foster mom have quite a bit in common. They’re both sweet. They’re both lovable. And they’re both stubborn! 😂

Our money is on foster mom for the win!😉

While Bobby is busy settling in and being his adorable, stubborn self, his veteran is able to focus on what matters most—his treatment and healing. He doesn’t have the added worry of wondering what will happen to his beloved pup. He knows Bobby is safe, loved, and in good hands.

That’s what a safe place for a pet can mean to a veteran who is facing a difficult season.

Because healing is POSSIBLE when your pet is safe. 🐾❤️

Some stories don’t end when a pet leaves our care. Sometimes, they keep unfolding in ways that are both heartbreaking and beautiful.

James is still hanging in there.

Last night we were able to bring him some bittersweet news: Ellie has been adopted. ❤️

After everything she and Buddy had been through, Ellie has found a family of her own. She has a safe place to land, people to love her, and a future ahead of her.

We knew the news would bring mixed emotions. Ellie has been such an important part of James’s life, and saying goodbye is never easy.

But there is also comfort in knowing that she is safe.

James has endured so much. He lost Buddy, his beloved companion, and now he has had to say goodbye to Ellie in a different way. But tonight, he got to hear something every pet parent wants to know:

Ellie is okay. She is loved. And she has a home.

Sometimes, caring for a veteran and his pets means more than keeping them together.

Sometimes it means making sure that, when circumstances change, the love continues—even when we have to let go.

And now, James knows that his girl is going to be alright. 🐾❤️

Today was a special day. Being able to represent and support a mission dear to my heart while listening to friends old & new tell us why this mission is also dear to them touched my heart in ways difficult to express. I hope you all know that your support makes a difference. We are changing lives and saving lives together. Thank you. May God bless you all. ♥️
