🎄🍪 Santa Says: Share the Cheer… Not the Cookies! 🍪🎄

We LOVE Christmas goodies — cookies, fudge, brownies, peppermint bark — all the festive yum. 😋 But for our furry friends? Those treats belong on the naughty list.

🎅 Why holiday treats are a no‑no for pets:
•CHOCOLATE: contains theobromine, which pets can’t break down → can cause vomiting, diarrhea, tremors, seizures, and even heart issues.

•XYLITOL: (found in many baked goods & sugar‑free treats) can cause a dangerous drop in blood sugar and liver failure in dogs.
• FATTY FOODS: (fudge, butter, rich desserts) can trigger pancreatitis — a painful and sometimes serious condition.

•RAISINS &NUTS: can cause kidney failure, weakness, and neurologic signs.

• EXTRA SUGAR = upset tummies, diarrhea, and a very grumpy holiday for everyone.

🐾 Pet‑safe holiday tip: Stick to pet‑approved treats or ask us about safe festive snacks made just for pets.

Today we’re excited to highlight one of our amazing doctors — Dr. Morris — and her adorable Frenchies, Angus and Louie! 🐶🐶

👩‍⚕️ Years in the field: 22 years
📍 Fun fact: According to her husband, she must visit all 50 U.S. states before she’s allowed a trip to Europe — and she’s down to just 6 states left!
💛 Favorite part of veterinary medicine: Dr. Morris loves educating clients on the best ways to care for their beloved pets. Helping families understand their pets’ needs is truly her passion.

🌟 Meet the Team Thursday — Amanda one of our special Veterinary Receptionist! 🌟

Amanda has spent the last four years in the animal field—working everywhere from barns to a zoo to SeaWorld—before joining the our team here at Lake Vet.

🐾 Fun Facts:
• She has a 16-year-old leopard gecko named Rae who’s been her tiny roommate for nearly two decades.
• She also has a 17-year-old Yorkie whose one special trick is… snuggling (and honestly, that’s the best trick of all).

🐾 Her Favorite Part of Vet Med:
Amanda loves being there for people during some of the toughest moments with their pets. She knows vet visits aren’t always easy, and she takes pride in helping clients feel supported and understood.

Her kindness, calming presence, and the comfort she brings to both pets and their people make her an invaluable part of our team.
