This!
This why we believe in the great American experiment!
Our Founders believed in the time tested concept of ‘Neighbors Helping Neighbors’.
Bravo to The Mason Jar team for keeping despair as far away as possible for those in our community who need the support….
Until SNAP is back, The Mason Jar is providing free lunches for kids who need them.
Starting November 1st, stop in and ask for a “Mason Jar Bag. It will be a bagged to go lunch. Nothing fancy, but it’s a meal if your children are hungry. One for every child present, every day, no purchase necessary, until SNAP benefits are reinstated in Florida. We’ll keep helping however we can, for as long as we can.
Thank you to Gigglewaters for the amazing idea.

Mental illness impacts individuals WORLDWIDE. Regardless of your wealth, s*x, color, race or location, it is something that every community deals with.
See this interview with Prince William for an example:
Prince William's foundation is giving £1m to set up a su***de prevention network.

HELP US CREATE AWARENESS AND GET A FREE SHAMROCK TUMBLER
October 10th is World Mental Health Awareness Day
See below for your chance to get a free thermal Shamrock Tumbler (while supplies last).
Did you know that studies have shown that people who work in the veterinary industry have a su***de rate of up to FOUR TIMES that of the general public?
Male Veterinarians: 2x more likely
Female Veterinarians: 3.5-4x more likely
Vet Techs/Support Staff: Up to 5x more likely
Did you also know that there are resources right here in the community to support not only the veterinary industry, but all across the community.
Here at Shamrock Animal Hospital, we have partnered with The MIKE Foundation to spark not only awareness of the prevalence not just of su***de, but overall mental health disease in our community.
If you would like to join us in our efforts and get your free Shamrock Animal Hospital Tumbler, follow these few simple steps:
1) Swing by Shamrock Animal Hospital and collect a MIKE Foundation “Be Kind” yard sign.
2) Put it in your yard or in front of your business.
3) Take a picture and post it on the Shamrock page
4) Make sure we know who you are (that means that we need your name!)
5) Pick up your Tumbler at Shamrock Animal Hospital
We will be posting various messages throughout the day today and through the weekend. It is our sincere desire that the information will give our community the awareness and ability to seek any help they need or that you can help someone in your life to cope with their own personal mental health challenges.
To learn more about the Mental Illness and Kindness Endowment - MIKE, their page is tagged here or you can go to their website to learn more about what we are doing right here in Central Florida to provide mental health support to our friends and neighbors.

We know it was short notice, but the family showed up. In just 6 hours, our clients, friends and staff helped us to raise over $1400 for Patriot Service Dogs!
It means the world to us that our community cares about PSD as much as we do.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU
Dr. Raquel Fagan
Thank you. Thank you to everyone who donated, shared, and kept your fingers crossed for PSD over the last 36hrs.
We raised over $19,500 during Give4Marion. And together, we raised an incredible amount of support for Patriot Service Dogs. Every donation, share, and word of encouragement moves us closer to raising and training the next service dog. Next year, we know we will be able to hit our $25,000 goal.
Because of you, veterans will continue to receive life-changing service dogs at no cost, and women in our WOOF Prison Program will continue to find purpose and second chances. We are so grateful to have you as part of our community.
A special thanks to all of our veteran ambassadors, Shweta P, Shamrock Animal Hospital, and Vance Mobile Vet Care, for spreading the word and sharing your enthusiasm for PSD. Thank you as well to the Gracie Fund for matching $5,000 in donations to PSD and the Ocala Foundation for another amazing year of Give4Marion. We have shown what a true community can do!

For those of you who know us here at Shamrock Animal Hospital, Patriot Service Dogs is a non-profit organization that works in partnership with the Florida Department of Corrections, hundreds of volunteers and the team here at Shamrock. Dogs that make it through the full training process (which takes 18-24 months) are then placed with an honorably discharged US Veteran at no cost to the recipient.
If you have it in your heart in the next 6 hours, we ask that you consider supporting PSD in achieving their fundraising goal of $25,000. We are pleased to have donated $940 in the memory of our clients who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge in the last two months.
Be the first to know and let us send you an email when Shamrock Animal Hospital posts news and promotions. Your email address will not be used for any other purpose, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
What do you do when you combine a Floridian (and huge Florida Gator fan), a New Englander (who lives and dies by where the Red Sox are in the standings), 6 kids, 4 dogs, 1 cat, a large number of colorful fish and a pocket full of dreams for the future?
You become the owners of Shamrock Animal Hospital, of course.
Having met in 2014 and married in 2015, there was always something “more” in our marriage. As we moved along in time, we realized that Raquel’s dream of owning her own animal hospital, and more than 20 years as a veterinarian, where she could do it “her way” and Jeff’s background in customer service, hospitality, sales & marketing and real estate were a very interesting blend. When we started putting it all together, we developed our own recipe for not only delivering great veterinary care, but also for enhancing people’s lives by enjoying it with their pets.
We spent dozens of late nights discussing what we thought our version of a “pet lifestyle” would be.
What kind of facility we would want to build?
How would we want our employees to interact with our clients?
How would we want our clients to interact with us?
Where would our hospital even be?
Then it happened…online…the same way we met in 2014!
It started as a simple little email saying that there was an animal hospital for sale in Central Florida. The next piece of information told us that it was in Mount Dora – one of our favorite day-trip towns. Next, we saw the facility and talked to people about the hospital. AND, it was called Shamrock! What could be luckier than that for an Irishman like Jeff? The match could not have been more perfect.
Within 8 weeks, we had both quit our jobs and started our new journey of #shamrockliving. We both checked items off our professional bucket list. Raquel had a practice that she could call her very own and Jeff had a job where he could bring his dog to work everyday! There hasn’t been a single day that we have ever looked back.
You see, in the grand scheme of things, we really think that our pets have it right.
Play, eat, sleep, love…repeat everyday. We could all probably take a few lessons from them!
Until we see you next – give your dog a hug or your cat a kiss from us! And please remember what we say, “Life’s Just Better When Done With Pets”.
