Can't believe it has been a year without Reagan. So many things have happened that he would have loved. His 'Sissy' got married, Kyle graduated from Vet School, Flynn had his spleen removed and we made the official announcement that we are buidling a new animal hospital.
There is not a day that goes by that I don't mistakenly use your name, even after a year, when I am talking to one of the other dogs in the family.
It has always been my hope that the sadness would subside over time but, when it comes to you Reagan, I don't think that it will any time soon.
Your mom and I both know that you wouldn't want us to be sad - that was never your way. You would want us to be joyously celebrating everything that emodied you and everything that you stood for.
There's no doubt about it, you were a goof. But you were THE BEST kind of goof in the world.
You were also an ambassador. Most importantly for the spirit of Shamrock Animal Hospital but also for our closely held belief that "Life's Just Better When Done With Pets!"
Xander came into our lives last summer. Don't worry, no dog will ever replace you, but this morning he yawned right in my face and he showed me that, he too has a spot on his tongue! He channels your spirit at home and at Shamrock every single day. His endless energy reminds me of you all the time.
You were such a creature of habit. Running in the same direct line in the back yard every time you went out. You wore the grass down and created a path for you to run from the patio to the side yard. It remained for a very long time. Slowly, the grass has almost all returned and it reminds me that while life with you was short, it was filled with life and enthusiasm that I will remember for decades to come. As I have watched the grass fill in, I am reminded that we will see each other again - right there at the rainbow bridge.
Until then, know that you are always in our hearts and your spirit lives on in our family and for hundreds, if not thousands, of people that were fortunate to have their lives touched by you.
We miss you Rea!
