Good morning, everyone! π»
The Holy Cat has told me it's time for an update message!π
First off, we have a few new members in the congregation and I would like to extend a warm welcome to them! Welcome to The Holy Church of Cat ! We're so glad you're here β€οΈ
I'm Reverend Mother and that handsome fella sitting on my shoulder is my Sabbath. He was my soul-kitty. Unfortunately, he was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma last September and I had to help him transition into his next life. It broke my heart.
Then after that until March, The Divine Feline sent me a series of terrible hardships that stripped a lot of toxic people and environments from my life. I pretty much went through a whole ego death and I've had to rebuild from there. It was a time of very painful blessings.
It has also left me little emotional energy to keep up with church business. But for the sake of cats like Sabbath, I still feel determined to help improve the lives of Divine Felines everywhere.
There world is an absolute π© show at the moment. I think a lot of us are painfully aware of that. So many are struggling. Not just financially but emotionally too. And when the economy struggles, animal rescues struggle one hundreds times more than usual.
I want to find more ways for the church to support animal rescues so if you have any ideas, drop them in the comments. ππ» I would love to partner with rescues to do fun events but I would need a dedicated one or two people in the Morganton NC area to help organize and put things together. Send me a message if you're interested.
I may change the registration of the church to just a religious organization and drop the animal rescue part. I'm still trying to figure out how to use social media to gain attention to our mission but I also have a full time job and a side-hustle. And I'm not sure if the church could ever raise enough money for a rescue. The problem isn't that there aren't enough animal rescues. The problem is the ones that do exist don't receive enough resources or support.
But eventually, I would still like to find a space where we can have an actual church building. Just for cat people to have a place to reflect and socialize and for us to have cat-themed events, fundraisers, or even weddings and funerals.
I trust that The Divine Feline will make a home available to us when the time is right. For right now, we congregate on social media. But there's nothing that can't be accomplished when cat people come together for the good of The Holy Cat
Don't forget to read the commandments pinned to the top of the page π§Ύ Go forth and spread the good word of the Pu$$y Preacher! ππ»
