Meet Eddie! 🐾

Eddie is a 6-year-old, 30-pound terrier mix with the sweetest smile and a heart full of love. This happy little guy is housebroken, sleeps through the night in his crate (though he’d happily snuggle in bed with you if given the chance!), and absolutely loves car rides.

Eddie is an outdoorsy pup who enjoys exploring, making him the perfect walking or hiking buddy. He walks nicely on a leash and gets along well with the two dogs in his foster home. With proper introductions, he would likely do fine with cats as well.

What Eddie loves most, though, is people. He craves attention, follows his person everywhere, and will happily be your loyal shadow.

If you’re looking for an affectionate, easygoing companion who’s always up for an adventure—or a cuddle—Eddie might just be your perfect match!

Meet Rookie!

Rookie is a very handsome Beagle mix! He is just over a year old and the perfect, compact size at 26 pounds. Rookie's personality shines bright—he’s full of puppy playfulness, affection, and charm.

Rookie loves to romp and play with other dogs, making him a wonderful buddy for canine companions. He’s crate trained, doggie-door trained, and already working on his basic commands (he’ll happily show off his “sit” if treats are involved!).

With his boundless energy and joyful spirit, Rookie would thrive in a home with a secure fenced yard where he can run, explore, and chase after a ball to his heart’s content. In return, he’ll shower you with love, loyalty, and plenty of tail wags.

Meet ANNIE!

Annie is a darling 2-year-old Chiweenie weighing just 13 pounds. This spunky little girl is full of life and has a playful, energetic spirit.

She is crate trained and doing well with her house manners when given regular potty breaks. Annie gets along with other dogs, especially medium-sized males, and is still learning to understand doggie social cues since she didn’t have much experience with them before. While she does OK with canine companions, she would also be perfectly happy as the only dog soaking up all the attention.

Annie has started leash training and will need someone willing to continue helping her build confidence on walks. A fenced yard isn’t required, but it would be a big plus for this active little girl.

Above all, Annie is a sweet and loving pup who just needs time and patience to fully blossom. Once she feels secure, she will be a devoted and wonderful companion.

Meet Meredith, she is a 2 year old Shih Tzu mix. Yes she is very cute BUT, she is a typical Shih Tzu mix. As a result we are looking for a home that has no kids and not many visitors. She is very sweet most of the time but has spells when she gets grouchy and nippy. The perfect home for her will have experience dealing with dogs like her.

We want to thank those that have already signed up. We still have 30 spots to fill.

Help us help those with no voice! Everyone remembers Merle and Tandy. Both of these dogs are PAR Alumni. They deserved a chance and we gave them that. We can only do these things with your support. You can help us by volunteering at The Carolina Balloon Festival. We have the opportunity to provide help at this event in exchange for a sizable contribution to the rescue. The event will take place October 17 thru 19. It will be at The Statesville Airport in Statesville NC. If you have any questions please call Donald Gullett at (704) 662-2904. Will you register to help so we can help more animals like Tandy and Merle.

Meet PENNY!

Penny is a 9-week-old Lab mix puppy who has already stolen her foster family’s hearts! This little sweetheart loves to be right in the middle of the fun and is happiest when she’s with her people.

She’s wonderful with kids—her foster family has two young boys, and Penny plays right alongside them with patience and joy. She’s also met the resident senior cat and was respectful, giving space instead of pushing for attention. With dogs, Penny is a blast—she especially enjoys chasing the family’s older chihuahuas, who seem to love the extra spark of energy she brings.

Like any puppy, she’s still learning the ropes. Penny is doing great with potty training and she’s working on crate training. She’d much prefer to be right next to her people, but she’s making progress every day.
