Blackhawk Retriever Club owner / handler qualifying stake, held this past Saturday on July 11th was good to us! BOW CHICKA WOW WOW ( CHICKA ) took home 4th place out of 22 dogs, handled by Mary Spangler. The test was held on the Spangler property and was judged by Bob Matlin & Brad Ames. The tests were challenging with great consideration given to the heat index. It was FUN to RUN, and even greater to FINISH! A BiG THANK YOU goes to our judges Bob & Brad for their time and thoughtful tests design, also to the many club workers that helped us to carry out the day’s responsibilities to get er’ done! THANK YOU TO ALL!!!!

I got to check one thing off my bucket list today! Putting an AKC Senior Hunt title on a dog I bred, raised, trained and handled!
It was a special day thanks to a great group of friends to train with and Darren Scott.Without his expertise and patience I would have never even attempted it! Thanks for sharing your love and knowledge for this sport, even with this old lady!

Lindy had a good trial this weekend at PRTA’s Open! With her TPLO surgery just over 6 months ago and limited trialing I’m so proud of her. Thanks to our judges, land owner and all of the people working to put on the trial. It was VERY hot both days but everyone stayed with it despite the heat and did an excellent job for the dogs!

So very sorry for the loss of your special girl.

With a broken heart I share this gift with you all! This picture captures our special little girl, Oakley!! With a feather on her nose she smiled out of her stand. Waiting to do what she loved, retrieving her birds! She was so full of love and life, a true gift to all that she came in contact with! An incredible gift to this world, we love you Oakley!
