Cat and rabbit care is fully funded through generous community donations. Buffalo County Humane Association has been caring for companion animals in need for 25 years. We opened our first permanent building, the Jerome and Judith Benson Animal Shelter, in fall of 2019. BCHA is an all-volunteer organization. The shelter is open by appointment only. BCHA is recognized as a nonprofit organization under IRS Code, Section 501(c)(3). Dog Seller and Facility License #521389.

Sweet Lily is going a bit stir crazy here at the shelter, and would love to get into her forever home where she can stretch her legs and roam! 🤍🐱🤍

🐾Lily has a reduced adoption fee!

🐾 9.5 year old female

🐾 She is outgoing, friendly, curious, and playful (feather wands are her favorite)!

🐾 She has a past medical history respiratory infections which means she needs occasional antibiotics. She responds very well to meds and her flares are infrequent!

Lily has been at the shelter for almost 9 months without a single application or interest. 💔 She has such a bubbly, fun, and quirky personality - we know she will make an amazing companion for someone willing to give her a chance.

While spring is overflowing with kitten cuteness, we want to remind you not to overlook the adult and senior cats still waiting patiently for homes. 🥺

The older cats may not climb your curtains at 3am or treat your ankles like a WWE match like kittens might, but they DO offer:
✨ Professional-level cuddling
✨ Fully developed personalities
✨ Lower chances of surprise acrobatics off your refrigerator
✨ Calm companionship and endless love

Some of our senior cats have watched kitten after kitten get adopted while they’re still waiting for someone to choose them. And honestly? They deserve their happy endings too.

So come spend some time with our adult and senior cats this Saturday (May 30th). Our doors will be open from 1:00-4:00pm. One of these amazing felines just might be your purrfect match. 🐾🐱🤍
