Daisy came to us from a sad situation. She remains friendly and happy. Daisy keeps a clean kennel here in the shelter, which is a very good sign for housetraining.

Jazz is a friendly girl who is looking for a family or person that can give her time to adjust to her new situation. She came to us from a sad situation, yet she remains happy and loving. She lived with many other small dogs and got along with all of them.

Zeus, champion of Mount Olympus, all fear his mighty thunderbolt. Yeah, that's not this Zeus. He is very brave when standing next to staff that he knows. He was afraid of the camera, the new people, and the treats. Once he gets to know you, he is your best friend, he just needs a few minutes. Life has not been very kind to him and he feels it all.

He is a goofy boy, looking for a patient person or family who can give him time, love and structure. A basic obedience class can be very helpful for an anxious dog, giving him confidence in addition to training.

The shelter will be closed on Monday September 1 for the county holiday. Staff will be in to care for the animals.
The officer on call will be available for emergency calls only at (336)751-0227, option 2. You may need to leave a message. Speak clearly, state your name, the reason for your call and provide a working phone number that you will answer and he will call you back. Non-emergency calls will be returned on Tuesday. Update: Omari has been moved to adoptions.

Kitten found in Cooleemee. Owners should come to the shelter during business hours or contact the officer on call at 336-751-0227. If no owner comes forward in the 72 hour stray hold we will assess for move to adoptions.

Please meet staff favorite Tinsel. She is estimated to be about 7 years old.

Super sweet and loving girl, came from a sad situation. Tinsel loves everyone, human and dog. We had quite the time getting her pictures because she kept flopping onto her belly so we could pet her. If you are looking for a calm and friendly dog who just wants to be a companion, Tinsel is your girl.

Freyja is a 3 year old Husky mix, 37 pounds.

Gorgeous black and white coat.

Hw positive-this is a treatable infection. Adopters should talk to their vet about treatment options.

Freyja is a relatively quiet Husky, walks well on the leash.

Please research the breed before adopting. Notorious escape artists.

Please meet your new best friend, Daisy!

Daisy keeps a clean kennel in the shelter which is a very good sign for housetraining

She is a sweet and friendly girl, not too big, not too small. Easy to load up in the car and take for a hike but sturdy enough to play with the little kids.

Daisy has tested positive for heartworm disease which is a treatable infection spread by mosquitoes.

Application only, special conditions waiver to be signed at adoption.
