As spring arrives, honeybees begin to swarm as a natural way of growing their local populations.

If you encounter a swarm, our members are available to safely collect it and relocate the bees to a new home.

Attached is a list of members along with the communities they serve. Please feel free to contact us if you need assistance. Including a photo of the swarm is especially helpful, as it allows us to estimate its size and determine the equipment needed.

Happy New Year 2026!

We are kicking the new year off with our first meeting this Tuesday 1/6/2026. All are welcome!

We have an exciting guest speaker: Trish Thompson (NC Master Beekeeper, Board Member American Apitherapy Society, President Union County NC Beekeepers Association)
Topic: The Natural Medicine Cabinet of the Honey Bee. Note: A few members of DCBA highly recommend this presentation, hoping to see everyone there!

The meeting is at the Davie County Public Library in Mocksville, NC from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM ET.

Interested in keeping Honeybees?

The Davie County Beekeepers Association will be hosting a two-day Beginner Beekeeping Class on January Jan 24th and 31st. Both are Saturdays, and you would want to attend both days.

The two-day class is $75 and includes lunch on both days, a 2026 membership to the Davie County Beekeepers Association, and a reference book.
Classes are from 9:00am to 4:00pm both days. Classes will take place at the Mocksville NC and details will come after you register.

One of our Davie County members had thier 2024 honey analyzed to see what pollen particles existed in it. It’s performed by Jonah Ventures DNA sequencing. Pretty interesting.

Our November meeting will be held this THURSDAY (11/7) at the Davie County Library. We will not meet on our normal Tuesday due to elections.

Joe Komperda will give us an education on honey bee anatomy. All are welcome.

Joe’s discussion will be from 7-8pm, but please try to arrive at 6:30pm if you are a member as we will have some club business to discuss including our own elections.
