❔Why should my pet be on preventative?❔

Ticks can transmit serious diseases.
When a tick attaches and feeds, it can pass harmful infections into the bloodstream. These diseases can make dogs & cats very sick and sometimes cause long-term health problems.

Some examples include:
• Lyme disease
• Anaplasmosis
• Ehrlichiosis
• Rocky Mountain spotted fever

🛡️ Tick prevention protects dogs before a bite can cause disease, which is much easier and safer than treating the illness after infection.

🌟🐾Employee spotlight for January🐾🌟

Meet one of our awesome receptionists “Bree”

📍 Born & raised:
Right here in Missoula, Montana 🤘

🦴 What I enjoy about the field:
I love getting to know both the pets and their people. Building those little connections is my favorite part of the day.

🦴 Pets at home:
Valkyrie, my staffy, and Paizley, my bearded dragon 🐾🦎

🦴 Life outside of Ancare:
When I’m not at work, I’m usually with my family — the kids keep me very busy. I also enjoy lifting heavy, hiking in all seasons, paddle boarding, golfing, and going to concerts.

🦴 Future goals:
To continue growing in the veterinary field, learning as much as I can, and providing great care for both pets and their people.

🌟🐾Employee spotlight for December🐾🌟

Meet Jen - One of our awesome licensed technicians.

📍She was born and raised in
Great Falls, MT

🦴Pets at home?
A 2.5 year old black lab named Eleanor, and two crazy orange cats named Mingo and Milo!

🦴What does she enjoy about the field?
I love building long-term relationships with pets and their families. Being part of their lives as they grow while also being a voice for animals who can’t speak for themselves is incredibly meaningful to me.

🦴Life outside of Ancare?
You can usually find her around town at live music events or concerts. She also enjoys reading, snowboarding, and traveling whenever she can.

🦴Future Goals?
After spending a few years in specialty work, I mainly see my future in primary care. My goal is to continue strengthening my skills in preventive medicine. I’d also love to mentor newer techs where I can lead initiatives like low stress handling, patient comfort protocols, or pain management improvements.

🌟🐾Employee spotlight for NOVEMBER🐾🌟

Meet Jaylene // One of our awesome Licensed Technicians.

📍She was born in Missoula & has been part of the Ancare team for 8 years.

🦴What does she enjoy about the field?

There’s something really rewarding about being part of a team that gives comfort, care, and second chances to pets who can’t speak for themselves.

🦴Animals at home?
🐶Reno(Toy Aussie), 🐱Kettle (DSH) & 🐴 Kahlua (Quarter horse)

🦴Life outside of Ancare?
Enjoys spending time horse back, hiking, hunting, fishing, doing beadwork and any type of crafty project.

🦴Future Goals?
My next step is to hopefully take my license further and specialize. In the meantime she is on the road to learning silversmithing as a fun new adventure.

Happy Halloween from the Ancare Team 🎃👻

As you fill your candy bowls and celebrate, remember that many Halloween sweets can be tricks for your furry friends! 🍬🐶🐱

🚫 Chocolate — even small amounts can be toxic to dogs and cats.
🚫 Xylitol (found in sugar-free candy & gum) — can cause dangerous drops in blood sugar.
🚫 Raisins & grapes — can lead to kidney failure in dogs.
🚫 Candy wrappers — can cause choking or intestinal blockages.

💡 Tip: Keep candy bowls and trick-or-treat bags out of reach, and remind kids not to share with pets.

🚨If your pet sneaks a sweet, call us right away or contact the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (888-426-4435) or one of our local Emergency clinics after hours
