Happy 250th birthday USA! As you begin your celebration take time to remember the fury friends that do not enjoy the noise. Here are some reminders to keep your pets safe:
1. Ensure your pet has a collar with ID in case of an escape. Fear can make your pet do things you may not think possible like scaling a tall fence or bolting. Do not leave your pet outside unattended.
2. Use medications that can vary from prescriptions from your vet to over the counter calming chews to help relieve anxiety and fear.
3. Give your pet a place that is safe to hide. Bathrooms are often a safe choice because they are sometimes interior rooms. Crates, corners, closets, calming beds and any place they feel safe should be offered freely.
4. Provide background noise such as the TV, radio, fan, white noise machine or any other noise to help drown out the booms.
Be safe!
