Woof Tribe

Woof Tribe Woof Tribe is a 501c3 grassroots network of rescue warriors dedicated to saving shelter dogs and supporting the entire rescue ecosystem.

We work together—rescuing, sharing, transporting, fostering, fundraising, and advocating—because every life matters. At Woof Tribe, rescue doesn’t stop at the shelter doors. We fight for unhomed, at-risk, and shelter dogs across the U.S.—the ones discarded, forgotten, or running out of time. From urgent medical care to trauma-informed behavior rehabilitation, we specialize in transforming the most

vulnerable into adoptable, thriving companions. We don’t just pull dogs—we walk with them every step of the way. Through a national network of fosters, expert partners, and forever families, we give each dog the second chance they deserve. At Woof Tribe, we believe that every life matters, healing is possible, and home is worth fighting for.

🩷🐺 CHANCE PUPDATE 🐺🩷

Let’s talk about Chance.

Chance came to us in one of those “absolutely not today, death” moments.

I was literally at the hospital getting some very much needed personal care when my phone started blowing up with back-to-back messages from rescue friends begging for help.

At the time, we thought Chance was a boy.

Spoiler alert: rescue enjoys plot twists.

Mr. Chance turned out to be Mrs. Chance. 😁

Chance had been hit by a car and dragged behind it. Her body was broken. Her pelvis was shattered. Her spirit looked absolutely exhausted.

She needed major orthopedic surgery, strict recovery, medical boarding, pain management, follow-up care, x-rays, range-of-motion work, enrichment, and every single thing required to convince a husky with a shattered pelvis that crate rest is not a personal attack.

And Chance did it.

She had her surgery. She had her spay. She stayed at Southern California Animal Hospital until the end of last month, getting the care, oversight, and recovery support she needed to heal safely.

The final cost was much higher than the original estimate, and while we raised a good portion, some pledges never came in and I covered the rest because when Woof Tribe commits to a dog, we commit all the way. If you pledged for Chance and never honored that pledge, her fundraiser is still in the comments, and paying those pledges now would help replenish the oh crap fund that keeps making saves like this possible.

But now let’s get to the good part.

Once Chance was well enough to travel, she got the kind of freedom ride every broken girl deserves.

She hit the road with **Morgan and Zach from Fetch Me A Ride**, and apparently Miss Chance decided that after surviving the worst, she was ready for her full-blown road trip era.

She had husky friends along the way.

She had people cheering her on.

She had soft places to rest.

She had smiles flowing everywhere.

And for the first time in a long time, Chance was not just surviving.

She was going somewhere.

Somewhere safe.

Somewhere soft.

Somewhere forever.

And then she made it to **Havre de Grace, Maryland**, where her brand-new life was waiting for her.

Chance met her mama and daddy, **Heather and Joe**, and it was like her whole body finally understood:

“I’m safe now.”

And not just safe in a “temporary landing spot” kind of way.

Safe in a “this is my couch, these are my people, this is my pack, and nobody is giving up on me ever again” kind of way.

Chance now lives in a beautiful, loving home with her very active mom and dad, who are already making sure her recovery continues the right way. She has three husky siblings to grow stronger with, including **Templeton**, another Woof Tribe baby who also hit the forever-family jackpot.

Yes. THAT Templeton.

Yes. THAT Heather and Joe.

The same amazing family who opened their hearts to Templeton has now opened their home to Chance, too, and honestly, there is nothing in the world that could make me happier.

This is the kind of adoption that makes the panic, the bills, the phone calls, the hospital stays, the sleepless nights, and the absolute emotional chaos of rescue feel worth it.

Chance is still healing. She still has to take it easy for a while. Her new parents will be continuing her recovery and signing her up for additional therapy, like water therapy and possibly light laser therapy, to help her body keep getting stronger.

Because this family is not just giving her a home.

They are giving her the follow-through.

The patience.

The movement she needs when she is ready.

The rest she needs when she is not.

The love she deserved from the very beginning.

But the most important part is this:

Chance is home.

She is loved.

She is safe.

And she knows it.

Chance survived the car.
Chance survived the shelter.
Chance survived surgery.
Chance survived recovery.

And now Chance gets to live.

Not just exist.

Live.

With a family who sees her, loves her, and will give her the beautiful, active, spoiled, husky-filled Maryland life she fought so hard to reach.

Happy forever, Mrs. Chance.

You were worth every penny, every panic attack, every phone call, every bill, every gray hair, every sleepless night, and every single second of the chaos.

Welcome home, baby girl. 🩷🐺

🐾 PONCHO UPDATE 🐾

Hi Tribe. It’s me, Poncho. Still feral. Still suspicious. Still Mr. “please don’t touch me like we went to kindergarten together.” But I have an update.

Please enjoy this visual of my cookie time in the play yard with my girlfriend. I mean Janis. Whatever. Labels are weird.

Janis and I are still kicking it pretty hard, and honestly, she is very helpful. She understands important things like snacks, personal space, play yard vibes, and not making every single emotion a huge dramatic production. Unlike humans. No offense. Okay, some offense.

I am still living with Ashley, and I have decided she is also useful. She gives me time. She gives me space. She lets me chill. She does not come barreling into my bubble acting like we are suddenly besties because she has thumbs and feelings. For the love of DOG, that is all I ever wanted.

My past was full of people being scared of me, assuming I was a jerk, treating me like a jerk, and then acting shocked when I became a jerk. Funny how that works. I was not trying to be bad. I was trying to be left alone long enough to feel safe.

And Ashley gets that. She does not push me. She does not force me. She does not make me perform bravery on command. She lets me decide.

Now let’s be very clear. I do not let her touch me yet.

NO TOUCHY, LADY.

Boundaries. Ever heard of them?

But I will eat from the bowl while she holds it. I will allow her in my area. I will let her exist near me without filing a formal complaint with management. And for me? That is huge.

That is not nothing. That is not “still no progress.” That is me saying, “Okay human, you may remain in the general vicinity of my greatness, but keep your grabby little friendship sticks to yourself.”

I am still Mr. Feral Boy, but I am learning. Learning that hands do not always grab. Learning that people can wait. Learning that love does not have to be loud. Learning that maybe I do not have to be on defense every second of my life.

So yes, I am having cookie time with Janis in the play yard. Yes, I am allowing Ashley to serve my royal bowl snacks by hand. Yes, I am still feral. And yes… I am starting to trust.

Please continue cheering for me while I slowly become emotionally available against my better judgment.

Love, sort of,
Poncho

🆘‼️ **HI. I’M SMOKEY. I’M 99 POUNDS OF FLOPPY EARS, TEEFIES, PERSONAL SPACE VIOLATIONS… AND I NEED SOMEONE TO SAVE MY LIFE.** ‼️🆘

Okay, Tribe. Let’s talk about me.

I’m **Smokey #374948**, approximately 3 years old, and I am what professionals might call a **VERY LARGE BOY. **99 pounds. Basically a throw pillow with legs. Except sometimes the throw pillow gets up, walks over, and **throws itself directly on top of you.**

That’s me. I’m actually a pretty chill dude.

I’m quiet in my kennel. I like lounging around. I enjoy catching some sun. I’m easy to get out.
I’m easy on leash. I am not out here trying to run your household. I mostly want to vibe.

Sometimes I’ll mind my own business in my little corner like a giant mysterious bachelor who pays his taxes and doesn’t want any trouble. Then suddenly…

**AFFECTION HAS BEEN ACTIVATED. **And here I come. All 99 pounds. I may lean on you. I may rub against you like an enormous cat. I may decide your lap looks perfectly adequate despite the obvious structural limitations.

That sounds like a you problem.

I’m sweet. I’m calm. I’m goofy. I love people.

And I’ve participated in playgroups with both male and female dogs. I do best with **easygoing, polite dog friends** who understand that we do not need to turn every Tuesday into WrestleMania. I prefer to use my energy for what I loving refer to as snuggle zoomies. (See videos in comments)

Honestly? I’m just a really nice dog. And somehow…

**I am running out of time. **My deadline has already passed.

Woof Tribe got me an **overnight reprieve**, but that is exactly what it sounds like:

**ONE MORE NIGHT. **Not safety. Not a forever home.

Just borrowed time. And tomorrow I still need somewhere to go.

I NEED LOVE. I NEED A HOME. **I NEED YOU.**

And Tribe, financially, my ask is SMALL:

🏠 21 days boarding: **$525**
🩺 Wellness check: **$300**
🪱 Heartworm preventative: **$75**
🦟 Flea & tick preventative: **$75**

**TOTAL: $975.**

That’s it, friends.

**$975 + ONE ADOPTER.**

That is what I need to get out alive.

My name is **SMOKEY #374948**.

⭐ Behavior score: **A+ FRIENDLY**

Hi. Charlie here.

Apparently I have attracted the attention of a little organization called **Woof Tribe.**

Excellent taste, honestly.

They looked at me and said, “Yep. We want that one.”

And I said, “FINALLY. SOMEONE WITH VISION.”

Here’s the problem:

**They cannot save me without a plan.**

I need an **ADOPTER** and I need **PLEDGES** to help cover the cost of getting me safely out of here and where I need to go.

So let me sell myself for a minute.

I know **sit.**
I know **stay.**
I know **down.**

I’m friendly.
I’m calm.
I’m quiet.
I’m young.
I’m gorgeous.

Basically, I have an **A+ behavior score** and a résumé stronger than half the people currently employed in corporate America.

Yet somehow I am sitting on an **URGENT EUTH LIST.**

Rude.

Woof Tribe wants to change that.

But they need YOU.

🔥 **ADOPT ME.**
🔥 **PLEDGE FOR ME.**
🔥 **SHARE ME.**

Pledges help Woof Tribe cover the costs of pulling me, vet care, boarding and transport.

But let me be very clear:

**Money alone will not save me.**

I need someone to say:

**“Charlie can come home with me.”**

That is the sentence that changes everything.

So if you’ve been waiting for a young, handsome, smart, friendly Husky who already knows some commands and looks like he was assembled in a luxury dog factory…

Hi.

It’s me.

**Woof Tribe wants to save me.**

Now we just need my person to step up.

❤️ **PLEDGE IN THE COMMENTS.**
❤️ **APPLY TO ADOPT CHARLIE THROUGH WOOF TRIBE.**
❤️ **SHARE THIS UNTIL MY PERSON SEES ME.**

Because I am one “YES” away from getting out of here.

And I would personally prefer that my next update be titled:

**CHARLIE HAS LEFT THE BUILDING.**

🚨 PEPPERONI HAS UNTIL 5 PM TODAY — HE NEEDS AN ADOPTER NOW 🚨

Pepperoni is only 6 months old and has spent 88 days—nearly half his life—in a shelter.

He’s a 20.3-lb neutered male Husky mix who is:

🐾 Social with other dogs
🐾 Playful, goofy, and affectionate
🐾 Tolerant and happy
💦 Completely obsessed with water

He is still just a baby.

He has never had his own home, bed, family couch, birthday, Christmas, or someone to call him their baby.

Now he is scheduled for euthanasia TODAY at 5 PM Pacific.

Not because he is old.
Not because he is dangerous.
Not because he did anything wrong.

He is out of time because no adopter has stepped forward.

Pepperoni doesn’t understand that his life is being measured in hours. He probably still wags his tail when someone approaches, hoping they are there to take him home.

He should be playing in a yard—not waiting behind shelter doors.
He should be sleeping safely on a couch—not facing death at 5 PM.

Woof Tribe wants to save him, but we need a committed adopter immediately.

⚠️ We do not use fosters.
Pepperoni needs an adopter who can take him to safety now.
