Hey guys, what I would suggest doing for the next 4 months (and last 4 months that I’ll be grooming) is go ahead and get those dates set up now. I anticipate it to be pretty booked up, so last minute accommodations and/or changes to the schedule will be very difficult if not impossible. November 18 is the last day I’ll have availability. To my wonderful So Pawsh clients,

I wanted to give everyone plenty of notice that I will be temporarily stepping away from grooming while I fulfill a lifelong goal of serving in the U.S. Navy Reserve.

My last day grooming before I leave will be Wednesday, November 18, 2026. I expect to return and begin grooming again around summer 2027. My extended absence will be due to completing both Navy Recruit Training (boot camp) and my job training (“A” School). I’ll be sure to keep everyone updated as I know more.

Over the next few months, I’ll do my best to provide recommendations for trusted local groomers who may be able to care for your pets while I’m away. Depending on their availability, some of those recommendations may be groomers who work within the same building. Please keep in mind that each groomer operates independently and has their own pricing, policies, scheduling, and services.

I completely understand that many of you will need to establish with another groomer during my absence, and I truly appreciate your understanding. My hope is that when I return, I’ll have the opportunity to welcome you and your pups back to my grooming table.

Thank you all for your loyalty, support, and trust over the years. Many of you have become more like friends than clients, and it has truly been an honor to care for your pets. Serving in the military has been a goal of mine for a very long time, and I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to make that dream a reality.

Thank you for supporting me through this next chapter. I truly appreciate your patience, encouragement, and support, and I look forward to seeing all of you and your pups again when I return.

📢 Scheduling Update

Over the next week and a half, I will be focusing on my current schedule and some important personal obligations. Because of this, I will not be taking phone calls, returning messages, or booking any new appointments until Monday, July 20th.

If you already have an appointment scheduled, it is still confirmed unless you hear directly from me.

🚨 KENNEL COUGH ALERT 🚨

We’ve had several reports of kennel cough circulating in our area, so we wanted to share an important reminder to help keep our community’s dogs safe.

Kennel cough is highly contagious and spreads easily anywhere dogs gather. It can be transmitted:
🐾 Through the air when an infected dog coughs, sneezes, or even barks.
🐾 Through direct nose-to-nose contact.
🐾 By sharing contaminated water bowls, toys, bedding, or other surfaces.
🐾 Even on people’s hands, shoes, or clothing after contact with an infected dog.

One of the biggest challenges is that dogs can spread kennel cough for days—even weeks—before they show any symptoms themselves. That means a dog may appear perfectly healthy while unknowingly exposing others.

If your dog develops a persistent cough, gagging, retching, nasal discharge, or seems under the weather:
❗ Please keep them away from other dogs immediately.
❗ Contact your veterinarian as soon as possible for guidance and treatment.
❗ Avoid dog parks, daycare, boarding, grooming appointments, training classes, and other places where dogs gather until your veterinarian says it’s safe.

We also want to remind everyone that outbreaks are not always the fault of a boarding facility, daycare, groomer, or other pet establishment. Because dogs can be contagious before showing any signs of illness, even businesses with excellent cleaning, disinfecting, and health protocols can unknowingly have an infected dog walk through their doors.

The best way to protect your pet—and every other dog in our community—is to:
✅ Keep your dog’s vaccinations up to date, including discussing the Bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine and any other recommended respiratory vaccines with your veterinarian.
✅ Stay home if your dog is coughing or showing signs of illness.
✅ Follow your veterinarian’s recommendations if your dog has been exposed.

As pet owners, we’re all on the same team. By staying informed, keeping vaccinations current, and keeping sick dogs home, we can help slow the spread and protect the dogs we all love. ❤️🐾
