Horses & Their People is for riders, barn owners, and horse‑curious humans who want some off‑duty time with their horses where nobody has to perform, fix, or be “on.” I come to your barn along the Wasatch Front and we build simple, repeatable routines with sound, touch, and nervous‑system tools so both you and your horse can soften, settle, and feel a little safer together again. Private herds, lesson barns, and small groups are welcome; this work layers under whatever training or program you already have without replacing your trainer. If you’ve been craving slower, kinder, more consent‑based horse time for you and your herd, text me at 801‑935‑6116 and we’ll see what might fit at your barn.

Two sweet huskies came to me today, rescued from California. They didn't know how they would do with a groomer. Wow, fantastic dogs, and their pack is so good to them. They get brushed on a regular basis. That helped me out a lot. Meet KiHa and Momo.

On Fridays and Saturdays I turn my home into a little nervous-system‑first grooming studio. The night before and morning of, I sanitize the tub and tools, lay out fresh towels, and do a clean sweep so when the first dog arrives, I’m ready to start. I normally take 3 to 5 dogs a day but sometimes there might be a seven dog day. I have people text from the car and I meet them outside, take the dog leashed (or handed to me backwards if they’re small), and walk them into my space in a way that keeps the whole ecosystem calm. Dogs usually arrive within 10–15 minutes of each other, so after baths they just hang out together like a small, familiar pack, settling in and relaxing while I move through the day. I almost never use kennels unless I’m totally backed up, and if dogs are siblings they get bathed, dried, and groomed together and then rejoin the little pack I’ve created for that day. Most of my clients are on a 2–8 week rotation with a few nail‑trim drop‑ins, and I book a five‑hour window per dog so I’m never rushing and can move at their nervous system’s pace instead of shoving them through a haircut. When everyone’s picked up and gone, I vacuum, wash and sanitize the tub and tools, start a fresh towel wash, and reset the room so it’s ready for regular life again. It’s a tiny, high‑touch setup, but it lets me do grooming in a way that feels safe and doable for both the dogs and me.

I’m a low-volume, home-based groomer in Millcreek specializing in nervous, ‘difficult,’ or medically complicated dogs. I work one-on-one in a quiet laundry-room studio, use high-quality products without add-on fees, and continuously adjust for each dog’s age, medical history, temperament, and energy so they’re not rushed through a busy salon day. I may use short kennel breaks as part of helping dogs settle and air-dry, but I don’t park dogs in crates all day—some barely kennel at all. If you’ve got a pup who needs extra time, gentleness, and nervous-system-aware grooming, I’m probably their person.

Calling in my high‑vibration dog people ✨

I’m opening a few spots for grooming in my in‑home salon space — for folks who want more than a ‘quick clip and go.’
This is for the pet parent who cares about nervous systems, ritual, and creativity as much as clean paws and cute faces. The price reflects the time, slowness, and consent your dog deserves.

If you’re:
• Totally fine with an in‑home salon environment (soft lighting, music, dogs moving around instead of being restrained the whole time)
• Excited about creative approaches — comfort trims, coat growing plans, practical but pretty styles tailored to your actual life
• Wanting a groomer who reads your dog, not just the appointment book

…then you’re my people.

Small and medium dogs, seniors, and the ‘white‑knuckle at the regular groomer’ pups are especially welcome.
Comment “GROOM” or message me with your dog’s name, age, and a clear photo, and I’ll send you current pricing and availability.

Shanti Paws has been quietly happening for years, I just finally decided to call it by its name.

Yesterday I met up with a woman who calls herself homeless and also fiercely in recovery. She’s been sober a while, stuck in that slow, grinding limbo of “doing everything right” and still waiting for housing to catch up. She’s got this little dog who goes everywhere with her.

Curtis James who us also known as Catmando grabbed a piece of luggage for her, and I showed up with what I always seem to have: lightly used clothes I don’t need anymore and a pile of donated dog gear—harnesses, leashes, walk kits people have handed me “in case you know someone who needs this.” Watching her light up over a harness and a bag with actual wheels reminded me why I do this.

Shanti and Me, Shanti’s Pack, Shanti and Me Sound Bath and Meditation (Shanti Sounds) are my paid offerings.

Shanti Paws is the year‑round channel where all the overflow goes: extra collars, bowls, leashes, sweaters, and whatever else I can reroute to dogs and humans who are right on the edge of their next chapter.
