Little moments. Big steps in confidence. 🐾❤️

For dogs who struggle with anxiety, sometimes the biggest victories are the quietest ones.

Watching Hank explore the trails, enjoy his surroundings, and become more comfortable sharing space with another dog is exactly why I love what I do.

No pressure. No expectations. Just positive experiences, one adventure at a time. 🐾

Meet Hank! 🐾💙

We’re excited to welcome this sweet Labradoodle to the Calm Canines family!

Hank joined us for his very first adventure hike, and what a wonderful day he had!

Hank is learning to build confidence around other dogs, so we thoughtfully paired him with a hiking companion who just happens to share his name. That’s right — Hank met Hank! 🥰

With a little patience, the right companionship, and the freedom to explore at his own pace, Hank had a beautiful first adventure.

We’re so proud of this sweet boy and excited to watch his confidence grow!

Feeling very grateful for where this work takes me. 🐾💚

I’m in Vermont this week caring for Hank and Dutch, and today’s adventure brought us right down to Lake Champlain.

One thing I never take for granted is the trust my clients place in me, not only to care for their dogs, but sometimes to travel across the country to do it.

From Utah trails to the shores of Lake Champlain, I feel very lucky to call this work. 🍁🐶

Some of the best moments happen when the right dogs find each other. 🐾💚

Bronwyn and Ghost had such a great time on the trail this morning, running, chasing, playing, and checking back in along the way.

One of the things I love about keeping my Adventure Hike groups small is being able to pay attention to each dog’s personality and make thoughtful matches. When dogs feel comfortable with each other, you get moments like this: movement, play, confidence, and a whole lot of joy.

Safe to say these two had a very good morning. 🥰

Keeping the familiar things familiar. 🐾

When a dog’s person is away, I try to keep the important parts of their normal rhythm in place.

For Danny Boy, that means his walks, familiar meals, time to sniff and explore, a little enrichment and play, and plenty of downtime at home.

Every day doesn’t have to look exactly the same. What matters is giving a dog enough familiarity, predictability, and comfort that life still feels steady while their person is away.

Walk. Sniff. Play. Rest. Repeat. 💚

Danny Boy has settled beautifully into our little routine this week.

Back with Danny Boy. 🐾💚

There’s something pretty special about walking through the door and having a dog remember you right away.

I’m back in Florida with Danny Boy for the next several days, and from the moment I arrived, it felt like we picked up right where we left off.

We’ve been out walking, playing tug, exploring the neighborhood, and settling back into our familiar routine together. He’s such a sweet, happy boy, and I’m so glad to be spending this time with him again.

Sometimes the best part of caring for a dog is simply knowing they feel comfortable, connected, and happy to see you again.

So good to be back with you, Danny Boy. 🥰🐾
