Meet our newest Day Train puppy, Obi.

Those ears! šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

It’s nice when they can just… come with you.

No stress.
No second guessing.
Just part of the day.

Y’all think I’M bad when it comes to confronting people who mess with service dog teams in public?

You should’ve seen my husband today.

We had our pack walk this afternoon, everything was so peaceful… then headed over to Discount Tire to get new tires put on the truck.

Voodoo?
Flawless.
Perfect.
On her relax mat like a tiny, professional queen minding her business and collecting her paycheck in invisible dollars.

Enter: ✨Old Man With Opinions✨

He walks by… pauses… and then does the unthinkable.

Starts trying to get Voodoo’s attention and tries coaxing her away from me.

I didn’t even have time to open my mouth.

Because from beside me, I hear my husband hit him with the calmest, deadliest line:

ā€œDon’t do that.ā€

Not loud.
Not aggressive.
Just enough ā€œtry meā€ energy to make a grown adult reconsider their life choices.

But alas…
The gentleman chose chaos.

He starts running his mouth and hits us with something along the lines of:

ā€œCome outside and do something about it.ā€

And I just…

😐

Before I could even process what was happening…

My husband stood up so fast I swear I heard boss music. He starts heading for the door.

Old Man Confidence immediately evaporates.

This man…who moments ago was auditioning for Street Fight: Senior Edition…
TRIES TO BLOCK THE DOOR… and then FULL ON RUNS to his truck.

Sir went from ā€œhandle it outsideā€ to ā€œI left the oven onā€ in 0.2 seconds.

Meanwhile, Voodoo?

Didn’t move.
Didn’t break position.
Didn’t clock in for the drama.

Because unlike some people… she understands what a working dog is.

šŸ˜‡ Moral of the story:

Don’t mess with service animals.

Not because they’ll bite you…

But because you might accidentally activate someone’s personal protection unit disguised as a spouse. 🫔

On behalf of service dog owners everywhere…

Thank you to my Doberman of a husband for stepping up, shutting it down, and reminding people that respect isn’t optional.

Your dog doesn't hate the crate.

He just was never taught to love it.

There's a difference. A big one.

I've had so many people tell me "my dog has separation anxiety" or "he just hates the crate" and almost every single time, what we're actually dealing with is a dog who was put in a crate one day without any preparation and decided, understandably, that it was terrifying.

You can't judge a behavior you never actually taught.

The good news? Crate training is one of the fastest things to fix when you do it the right way.
I'm talking about a week.
Sometimes less.

I filmed a whole video series on it once and it ended up being the most boring thing I've ever made because when you follow the process, it just... works.

I wrote out the entire process on the blog. The exact steps I use with every dog I work with. Why crate training matters more than most people realize. And my honest, slightly spicy take on separation anxiety.

And if you’re ready to stop guessing and actually see what your dog is capable of, I'd love to invite you to a free Transformation Session.

It's where we dig into what you're struggling with, work through some of it together, and figure out what your dog actually needs going forward. No pressure. Just real progress.

The night before my Day Training program started, I was on the floor crying.

I couldn't get her down the stairs.
I was texting my husband saying I can't do this.
I genuinely considered refunding every single client and shutting the whole thing down before it even started.

My dog had just had major surgery.

Twelve weeks of recovery.
Medications I was already losing track of. Physical therapy. A cone. And she weighs almost as much as I do.

I was losing my mind.

But she ended up slaying the entire day.

And somewhere between her morning meds and her afternoon physical therapy session (where she laid completely still and let me work her leg without a single fight)….I realized something.

Every single thing that made this bearable, I taught her years ago.
When none of it seemed necessary yet.

The crate she walked into like it was nothing.
The muzzle she wore without panic.
The way she just...laid there and let me help her.

All of it. Years ago. When the stakes were zero.

I wrote about it.

Because if you have a dog — young, old, healthy, perfect — this is for you.
