Hunters Busted using Drone to hunt trophy Buck!

The Indiana DNR investigated and charged several hunters who were using a drone to repeatedly locate and pattern a specific trophy whitetail buck. The drone was flown regularly in the days leading up to the hunt, including the day the deer was killed.
Officers also found that the group had illegally hunted the deer over bait and trespassed to retrieve the deer.

In Indiana drones cannot be used to search for or scout deer during the season or for 14 days before it, though they can be used to recover a deer that were legally harvested.

Though there is plenty of season left, our trackcation is coming to an end.

I wanted to express my gratitude to the hunters who trusted us this season and congratulate those that resulted in recoveries.

I am grateful for the experiences and lessons learned during out 5th season of tracking!

Unfortunately, we will have limited availability going forward and likely limited to weekends.

Congrats to Sloan for punching his tag on this beautiful public land buck. When he said be was feom Alabama i almost got back in the truck, but he was an Auburn fan and we felt sorry for him.

This one was 28 hours after shot and the deer felt freshly dead.

Side note, this is the first deer I’ve tracked that was shot with a Beast broad head. I was super impressed by the pe*******on and the amount of blood.
