Charlie Blue came in for his annual exam, so we thought it would be a perfect time to make sure his microchip was still working!

Did you know that there’s a national holiday about checking your pet’s microchip? August 15th is Check the chip day! We like to check our patients microchips annually at their yearly appointment to make sure that the chips are still reading accurately, and that they haven’t migrated to a different spot. While you may not be able to scan your pet’s microchip at home, there is something that you can do to “celebrate”!

Log into your microchip company’s website and make sure all of your contact information including phone and address is up to date, so that if the unthinkable happens, your pet can be reunited with their loved ones. ❤️🐾

Last week, a kind Amazon delivery driver found this fuzzy orange kitten alone in the middle of the road. Dr. Lorentzen has since welcomed her into their home to join the rest of the crew (what’s one more cat, right?!). She was estimated around 4 weeks old and has a broken tail but is otherwise thriving. ❤️👏😻

Edit: For those asking, her name is Phoebe!

Amazing progress in just 48 hours! 🤩
