Meet Rosie- aka Rosie Posie 🤍🌹

Rosie first came to us back in December at around 14 weeks old for her first check up—there were a few concerns that we had addressed at her appointment and we started treating her accordingly. A few days later she came back due to a worsening condition— As small as she was she was battling multiple intestinal parasites at the time and her little body was struggling. She hung out with us quite a bit so we could monitor her closely throughout the day and do therapeutic fluids for her, check her temperature, and run multiple tests on her including bloodwork panels, f***l tests, and a parvovirus test through the first few weeks of knowing her. She started improving within a couple of weeks, but her bloodwork had still shown some abnormalities, and she was soon referred to U of I Veterinary Hospital so they could run more in-depth testing with different specialists there. Once we got the intestinal parasites under control after almost 2 1/2 months of treating, she was suspected to have a liver shunt due to additional abnormalities found on bloodwork while at U of I. After many weeks/months of endless testing, and trips to U of I she had the surgery she needed and is finally thriving. This little girl had us all scared in the beginning but we never once doubted that she would make it through this hardship. At only 3 pounds and 8 months old she is one mighty little girl. We all love every time she comes in to see us, just because it feels so good to see her finally doing so well. After today’s visit Rosie has gotten a clean bill of health, and can start acting like the little puppy she is🤍

Here are some pictures of this small but mighty girl from her first visit, to her most recent🤍
