🐾 A Familiar Face with Big Dreams! 🩺💙

You may recognize Abi as one of our familiar faces here at Mt. Spokane Veterinary Hospital! This year, Abi took an exciting next step in her journey and started her first year of veterinary school at Louisiana State University! 🐊🎓

We were lucky enough to welcome Abi back to the clinic for a two-week externship as part of her veterinary school curriculum. During her time with us, she had the opportunity to work alongside Dr. McCall, assist with appointments, and even participate in surgeries!

We asked Abi about her favorite parts of her externship and what she’s looking forward to in the future. Here’s what she had to say:

“Participating in surgery, like neuters and spays, was my favorite. I also liked practicing drug calculations and procedure planning. I want to do mixed general practice like Dr. McCall (sees large animals and small animals). I’m excited to continue learning and bringing knowledge back to work every time that I can apply it in clinic.”

We love seeing familiar faces pursue their dreams, grow their knowledge, and continue building their skills. We are so proud of Abi and can’t wait to see where this journey takes her!

Thank you for spending part of your school year with us, Abi. We’re cheering you on all the way! 💙🐶🐱🐴
