Crate training can feel like a big step, but done right, it becomes one of the best tools for keeping your pet safe, calm, and out of trouble 🐾
If you’ve been following along with our recent posts, you already know: puppies love to chew (especially your favorite shoes 😅), teething can lead to dangerous “snack choices,” and even small amounts of extra treats or food can sneakily add up. A crate helps manage all of that by giving your pet a safe space when you can’t supervise directly.
Crate training tips for success:
• Make it positive—use meals, treats, and praise inside the crate
• Keep it comfy with soft bedding and safe chew toys
• Start with short periods and gradually build up time
• Never use the crate as punishment (it should feel like their safe zone, not a timeout corner)
• Give appropriate chews to redirect that teething energy in a safe way
Think of it as part of the bigger picture:
✔️ measured meals help prevent weight gain
✔️ safe chew toys prevent emergency “oops, they ate that” situations
✔️ crate training keeps them out of trouble when you can’t supervise
It all works together to keep your puppy or kitten healthy, safe, and just the right amount of mischievous 🐶🐱
