Summer is a time for travel! 🧳 When taking your furry friends along there are a few things to consider. 🐱🐶
-🩺 At least a week before your trip, visit your vet’s office to get your pet a clean bill of health, and to make sure they are up to date with their shots, and has received the appropriate flea, heartworm and tick repellant.
- If your pet gets anxious on car rides or gets carsick, your vet may be able to prescribe medication that can help.
-⛑️Have a pet first aid kit handy with their necessary medications if any, wipes, bandages, and other supplies your pet needs on a daily basis.
-🩶The safest way for a cat to travel is by carrier. Dogs can travel safely in a secured crate that is the correct size for them.
-🎾Reduce your pet's travel anxiety by bringing familiar bedding and toys.
-🦴Feed small meals a couple of hours ahead of travel time to prevent motion sickness.
-💧Depending on how long the trip is, plan on taking breaks at rest stops to allow your pet to go potty, eat a snack, and have a drink of water.
-🐾Plan on staying at a pet-friendly location.
- 🐾Always keep your pets leashed and supervised when in an unfamiliar area during travel.
