Abby is an almost 4 year old female. She is a Flat Coated Retriever mix. She is 82 lbs - she NEEDS a diet. We are starting her on one but her new family will need to continue it. The picture does not do her size justice. She can live with kids, cats and other dogs.

** Abby is in our care in Altoona PA. She is available for adoption. Each animal gets microchipped, 4DX tested, spayed/neutered and vaccinated. The adoption fee covers those costs. Adoption fees are listed on the application. An application must be filled out in order to visit with any dog or cat. They can be found on our website www.centralpahumane.org under the Adopt A Pet tab or at the shelter. Our animals are posted on Facebook and Petfinder when time permits. A Petfinder inquiry is not an application, and they may not be responded to. We can only accept so many applications for each animal. We do adopt out of state, but we cannot hold the animal. **

UPDATE: LILA IS IN A HOME!!

Did you know November is “Adopt A Senior Pet Month.”

We have a few senior dogs that are patiently waiting for their forever home like Miss Lila West. Her bed head was on point for her morning photo. This sweet little chihuahua mix is about 11 years young and just a peanut in size! She’s full of s***k still, so she is ready to get into a home!! Lila can live with dogs, cats and older kids!

🐾 Hi, I’m Rosie! 🐾

I’m 3 months old, and my foster mom says I’m made of sugar, spice, and everything nice! 💕
I love cuddles, belly rubs, and warm blankets — basically anything that makes me feel close to my people.

I get along great with other dogs (they make me brave!) and I’m even living with cats right now — I think they’re funny little creatures who don’t bark enough. 😄

My favorite things in life?
✨ Snuggling until you can’t feel your arm anymore
✨ Following you everywhere
✨ Looking adorable (I’m really good at that one)
