Today, with heavy hearts, we say goodbye to BlackJack, our beloved office companion and unofficial morale officer. He brought so much joy, laughter, and comfort to everyone who walked through our doors, whether it was through a well-timed purr, a curious glance at your keyboard, or simply being there to brighten a tough day.
BlackJack came into our care after a severe leg injury. When we took him to the vet we found out he is FIV positive. Its an autoimmune disorder that can seriously impede the immune response of a cat. While trying to recover from the leg injuries he developed FIP. This can be a dry or wet FIP and he unfortunately had the wet, which caused his tummy to fill with fluid and potentially caused organ damage. Even with supportive care from the vet, he was declining rapidly. We made the difficult decision to ease his discomfort and let him go somewhere that he can be a happy healthy cat again!
BlackJack reminded us daily of the simple pleasures in lifeโsunbeams, chin scratches, and the company of friends. He will forever be a part of our memories, and though the office feels emptier now, his pawprints are permanently etched in our hearts.
Rest peacefully, BlackJack. May there be endless naps and tuna Churu's waiting for you over the rainbow bridge. ๐พ๐๐
