Our beautiful Abbey was surrendered to animal control because her human mom went into an assisted facility and the son didn’t want her. She became very depressed there and stopped eating and came down with the horrible shelter funk.

We were so happy to help her and started supportive care with her. (Fluids/meds/syringe feedings) Abbey has made a full recovery.❤️‍🩹

The animal control paperwork said she was 3y old but after a veterinarian examined her it was thought she might be a little older. We contacted animal control and sure enough she is at least 8y old maybe older.

We ran bloodwork and everything looks ok except Abbey is hyperthyroid. If she can tolerate the oral medication, she will be on Methimazole twice daily for the rest of her life. Unfortunately this will now lessen her chance at an adoption. She did have an abdominal ultrasound yesterday and everything looks great.

On Tuesday our sweet sisters 👯‍♀️ got adopted together!!🥰 Verity Jane & Sapphire.
Thank you Trish for naming them when we asked for help on Facebook in naming them. (We had to add the Jane in because there were already a couple of Verity’s in the system.)
Verity Jane & Sapphire spent a couple of weeks here before going to their foster home. Thank you Michelle for opening up your home to these 2 cuties. And thank you for being a part of their adoption and talking with their future mommy.
We know their new mommy is going to adore these precious girls. Happy adoption day little ladies.

We love to feed our furbabies a variety of textures (especially kittens) and we have run out morsels/gravies/chunks. Any variety/flavor from Fancy Feast is usually what we choose.

Can anyone help Pickles 🥒 and our other FKEC cats out?

We are in need of some new or even gently used cat condos. Ours have been very well loved and I’m afraid they are now ready for the dump.
Pickles is asking for some ‘adult’ size ones as well.

We were contacted by another rescue about this sweet little girl. A Good Samaritan noticed her on the side of the road near railroad tracks. 🛤️ She seemed a bit stunned and had a horrible eye injury. (See comments for pictures but warning ⚠️ use caution ⛔️ when viewing.)
The other rescue was contacted and knowing I love eyeballs, the rescue contacted me. Unfortunately there was no saving the eye so she had her enucleation surgery yesterday
We don’t think she was visual on intake but we do think she is gaining her sight back. She is tracking our hands better so we are very hopeful.
We named her Doodlebug after a self propelled railcar and because it was cute like her!🥰
Doodlebug will be available in a few weeks. Until then….enjoy some air biscuits.

Sweet Bonnie….we told her her family is out there somewhere. Bonnie has CH but it is very mild.
